On the 20th October 2002 BuySellCortina brought Uren home. This event has proved to be the one and only event to be held at the famous Race Proved Workshop in Hanwell W7, We have since been informed that the work shop that created these awesome conversions is going to make way for luxury apartments and condo's for the London yuppie community, if only they new that some of these cars graced the streets of Whitehall. For those of you who could not attend for any reason it was an historical day and a revival meeting is being planned.
The event although staged on the Sunday it began on Saturday with Ten invites choosing to stay over night at the Boston Manor Hotel, accommodation was arranged via our Website and Tubbs Rooprah organised a social get together at a local drinking house the Scotsman's Inn in Southall, Middlesex. Traditional Indian and Thai food was laid on and the night cascaded into frenzied conversation between new and old colleagues. For legal reasons we are unable to disclose the eventual time of closing, but many thanks to the owner, bar and kitchen staff for making us extremely welcome. |

Sunday began early for some of us, at 08:30 Leo, Tubbs and Martin were in Hanwell awaiting the arrival of Mr Jonathan Hurst with keys to move the military placed cars preventing people from blocking our venue finally at 09:00 action was in Place and the cars were being moved, Jono's late arrival came about from making sure that the Scotsman was locked before he left that morning and all barrels had been emptied. |

By approx 09:00 everything was buzzing, a number of cars had arrived and John Hill of Classic Ford was in attendance. Dave Johnson had already finished his first Burger and BuySellCortina's own photographer was setting up and Leo had his Shaky camera in place, Obviously nothing to do with the night before in the Scotsman. The Greater London Branch of the 1600E OC provided the Marshall's, who held traffic up to allowing the convoy of cars to parade along the Uxbridge Road past 177 and into the public car park next to the work shop. |
