Repainted in two-pack paint approximately ten years ago, the finish has held up, and still presents very well today, though naturally shows some age-related imperfections expected of a 54-year-old car.

First registered in the UK on 1st January 1967, this Ford Cortina Mk2 was originally finished in Bronze but today presents in striking, period-inspired race livery.

Repainted around 2012 in the iconic ‘Cortina Lotus’ Team Lotus Works colours of 1967, the car carries Graham Hill’s race number ‘105’ as a tribute to his entry at the 1967 Oulton Park Gold Cup. The overall effect is a convincing and well-executed homage, with details such as the correct race and registration number placement, Minilite-style wheels and a bumper delete all contributing to its authentic competition appearance.

Inside, the car features a period-correct black vinyl interior, complemented by a 1600E-specification dashboard. The vendor describes the interior condition as very good to good, in keeping with the car’s wonderful character. The ownership history is particularly appealing, with just two former keepers and the current owner having enjoyed the car for the past 18 years.

At its heart, the car remains a 1967 Cortina Mk2, powered by a 1600cc inline four-cylinder engine and a Series 1 bodyshell. It has been modified and upgraded in period-style by a previous owner, incorporating elements from the later Series 2 model, including the GT dashboard and wiring loom.

It is a super solid shell as it was an Arizona Desert find.  It was basically a shell and I have built it up to a complete running & driving car. I have been slowly tidying it up.

Under the bonnet was painted about 5 years ago and I have done the door shuts and tidied up in the boot too. I have spent a lot of money on parts including new suspension parts, rebuilt callipers, cylinders, discs, pads, shoes the list goes on. It has a very good year correct engine, with new clutch too. It does need a rear seat base as it is sundried and useless. Other than that the interior is tidy, as I didn’t really want a show car. Yes, most will say it needs paint, It will never need any structual welding either I had been trying to salvage the original paint. I know it is still LHD as I liked it that way, but I do have all the bits to convert it to RHD if desired. I will put up a couple of pictures, but I do have loads more. So what do you guys think on value as I have no idea at all.

engine rebuild in 1978 and only run for 500 miles bored to 1575 with lightened and balanced crank, stage 2  big valve head , brand new (at the time) twin 40 DCOE’s (jetted and set up by Ripspeed racing)  4 branch manifold which delivered a surprising performance through a 2000E close ratio box.

We used it for a few road rallies then we entered and finished the 1979 Happy Eater stage rally.

After all of that it has been dry stored with a view to getting her out again, the engine is out with head off for inspection and the car is stripped out for inspection.

It would be hard to find a better 2 door shell sale includes shell, engine , gearbox etc.

Britax sunroof and vinyl roof replaced about 6 years ago, inside is fitted with sierra xr6 scheel seats which have been reupholstered, also will come with early Mk5 Ghia seats which were fitted previously, just had new front and rear screen rubbers and new door seals, all interior wood has been hydro dipped

Overall a good solid car although it needs a few improvements, needs a small patch on rear of sill and couple of small patches on passenger inner rear arch, if no interest on here will be getting it done next month and putting on eBay but priced accordingly, paint work is average, has had a blow over respray and is presentable for a daily or fun car, if I was keeping it I would have it redone in next couple of years but I just don't have time or a garage with power to do the upkeep any more hence reason for sale, looking for offers around £7500

This car has undergone a restoration over the past 2 years. Lot of work done.

New weber carburetor, New air filter, New oil filter, New oil, new timing belt, new radiator hoses, new water pump, 3x New door seals (2 front 1 rear), New boot seal, New fuel tank, New temperature sensor, Reconditioned fuel/temp gauge electronics, new ventilation seals + insulation, new washer fluid seal, New rocker cover seal, New spark plugs, New chrome window trim, interior and gutter chrome reconditioned.

Whole interior removed, deep cleaned and reconditioned. New soundproofing fitted. Whole car detailed in and out. Undercarrige and suspention fully rustproofed, double coated in problematic areas. Drives very well, mechanicaly perfect. The car is ready to drive and looks stunning. Drives great, turns great, no knocks. Brake pedal hard, clutch good. Gears change very smoothly. The only imperfections are quite minor, it would not take much to make it perfect.
