Thats a 5 speed conversion..... Anyone?
-
To save me looking can anyone point me in the direction of a thread on a gearbox conversion on my Mk2 please.

anything pre 73ish is tax free but only if the taxation class is historic vehicle, make sure that that is on your log book, If you are still not sure give Henry Ford a tinkle (your local ford dealer)they will know the year of manufacture and will let you know how to get proof from HQ.

175-70-13 Avon for me, didnt have much effect on the speedo, it still fluctuates by about 5mph (must change the cable)

done the conversion on my mark 5 last year only thing i noticed was that it took a split second for lights to come on after i turned them on other than that there great you are right lights are a hell of a lot better Where did You get them from? As I've been looking to do this to My mk5 Estate for quite some time but I haven't found a suitable conversion kit as yet (I was thinking that I would have to modify one made for another car) ! Cheers, Aaron. I got mine from e-bay, cost £50.00, make sure they are dim dip bulbs (6000k brightness are the best I find)

Sorry for the delay. I know, I will get around to the rev counter after the exhaust and 5 speed conversion, I know what you are saying and I guess it will get picked up at shows.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you... Finding a job to save Tina took priority... Steering is completely standard, didn't know there were any mods to be made! I don't know what the manifold is from, I guess an escort, it came with the car and has been modified in a few places, The next project on the car is the exhaust, might attempt to make one to save a quid or two. I was thinking at the time of spraying the car that it may have been an idea to paint the louvers the same colour as the stripe but decided against it but what I did do was to colour code the dash the same colour as the car, looks good but I am hoping I don't get glare from it when its sunny. Thanks for your comments

Almost..... It was originally silver Fox from the factory, then got resprayed light blue, then again navey blue with hideous reactions. My plan was to get it back to the original colour, I ordered the paint (waterbase) gave it some and a few coats of clear and out she went only it didn't look right, looked like it has a bit of light blue in it. Did a test card from our scheme and compared it... The colour was way off but hey! still looks good

The seats are out of a nissan NX sort of a sports car, nice comfy buckets but a pain in the . to fit because the floor pan on the nissan is sloped. I had to weld a 25mm bracket on one side to level the seat. The car is a Super, managed to find 'E' spec front grill and dash top. The washer bottle I found in my workshop, I think it was off a Mk2 fiesta, aesy to install, one wire back to the dash to a switch under the dash, found an existing hole the same diameter just above the right knee

Just about finished but now on the road, just a few odds and sods to finish off. I got her finished at the beginning of last month, I have had the enjoyment of driving it thats why I haven't posted anything for a while. here are some photo's I took for the insurance...... Total cost including the car stands at the moment £3777.30 and 254 hours (Dunno whats its worth though). Dunno what you all think??? comments and criticisms welcome
