drove about 60 miles today and sudenly started loosing power through all gears. i had to pump the pedal to keep her going or keep my foot to the carpet.. as soon as it goes over 1500 rpm the carb makes a sucking sound then wants to cut out. theres plenty of air its like its not getting the fuel??, even though theres plenty of fuel getting to it. im running a 32/36 dgav which i referbed 5000 miles ago and has been fine, on the 1600 crossflow ?? cheers. Dan.

dan 67 tin corner 1600e :) replied to dan 67 tin corner 1600e :)'s topic in Technical Discussion
thats brilliant cheers like i say iv done alot of ark welding while iv been growing up ;) but without gas it really is useless! also what would the general guage of steel be for instance floor pans? would you tend to up the quality for the sake of a longer life or generally use the same as a rule of thumb.? cheers. dan. -
are all thease £150, 140amp, mig welders any good? they are all full of good reviews but is it as good as it seems? iv done a fair amount of ark welding to start off but really need to move to mig for the odd bit of floor pan repair hear and there as you do :P bearing in mind this isnt something ill use much, (at a diy rate to start) but bassically will i get the same decent results?? cheers. dan.

hi im after a late mk2 ignition barrel? a couple of nos on ebay but think they are the early mk 2 ones. or are they the same??
-
still no starting :(
dan 67 tin corner 1600e :) replied to dan 67 tin corner 1600e :)'s topic in Technical Discussion
this is as mine is wired yes, i also have a brown wire going from the ignition barrel, connected to battery live on the solenoid main terminal. and one of the small wires ( red/white + yellow) goes through the bulkhead and somewhere behind the dash. the other to the coil as you said.ill have another proper look tomorow, as is obvious i still have a lot to learn! aha cheers for that though mate :) -
right i have fitted a new sollenoid and replaced the wires as before, yet when i turn the key it goes to ignition lights then the final turn, nothing! its a fully charged battery all other electricalls work and the engine will turn over forever with a screwdriver between the 2 main terminals on the solenoid (right and left). but still wont start.
