  1. I found a portion of fish & chips under the passenger seat, all gone green & hairy.
  2. I took a car for an MOT many years ago & when it was up on the ramp the High Street road sign pop riveted over the rusty floor pan was amusing.

Thanks for the pm's. A mate texted me to say its on ebay already. Only sold it yesterday so its been buffed up. The guy reads this so good luck to him when the angry buyer turns up to see what its really like. I am happy with the price i got for it.

A few more pics taken today Exhaust rubbers have streched a bit Drivers seat cleaned up, all the others are ok. Note the seat belt clips, inertia belts but no buckle, belt hooks round the chrome then clips down, are these standard as i have not noticed them in other cars ? Engine bay, temp truck battery

Wondered how long till someone commented on that  Fixed it today, rev counter seems to have got a bit sticky but frees up after the engines been running a little while, couldnt see any corrosion inside Those two extra indicator lights, one is an oil warning (cant believe they are not fitted as standard) & the other is brake fluid level

I hate photobucket, i have been uploading for over an hour, it overload's my laptop and just crashed it and i lost all i had done. So heres a few more words and i will do another post with some more pics. I have already had a lot of PM's, thanks to all. The car has had welding done underneath, but from memory not much, its definitely not a patchwork quilt. On the drivers door there is a rust blob at the bottom & the skins have a small stress split by the mirror. The front windscreen scuttle has got filler signs under the paint (pic to follow) The heater bowl has had some rust repair around the bottom. Just remembered i had new bearings & seals fitted to the rear axle when i got it. the car has had its electrics upgraded with an alternator. It also has brake fluid warning light and an oil warning light added in addition to the gauges. All these upgrades appear period and was told they were done from new. The front door panels are uncut, but do have wrinkles. The headlining has a very small rip above the drivers seat. It had a new carpet set a few years back. The boot floor has the vinyl cover & the spare wheel cover. The spare wheel is a chrome Rostyle. New track control arms were fitted a few years back by myself. As everyone has asked a price i will say £4250 as a starting price but am open to offers/suggestions and no part x. Also as shown in a recent thread Oxford Diecasts made a model of this actual car which sold 4000 units (thats put the price up :icecream: ) Remember, again.... The car is not as mint as the pics make it look as my dad RIP used to say 'It looks good from afar, but its far from good'.

I have been in 2 minds about selling this so thought i would ask here first. This used to be my everyday car until about 4 years ago when i inherited a Mini Cooper so this got parked up. I have been starting it & driving it up & down the private service road to keep it from seizing up. Its a genuine GT thats standard apart from being lowered and period 'GB alloys' wheels. The 2 front tyres are new and the 2 rear appear good. Its a series 2 and has a very rare Benelite type grill. It also has a very rare Ford heated rear window. The washers are electric, still operated via the pump switch. All pics taken last week Some good points, when i bought the car i was told it had been restored a few years earlier with new wings, front panel, rear arches and sills. I have fitted new halogen lights and new mounting pods. It has contactless ignition fitted. A sharp stereo and booster with Pioneer speakers in the rear panels. I have fitted brand new, clutch slave & master cylinders, Brake master cylinder, gearbox mount and all 4 track control arms, so all the difficult bits ok. Bad points. I tried to take pics to show the bad points, but all the pics came up looking good. The car is NOT as good as the pics make it look. It does have some scabby bits and the odd blister in the paint The paint is flat in some places. The exhaust is good but the rubbers look cracked. The chrome is ok but not perfect, some surface rust. the underside has had welding done in the past. I noticed the inner rear arch on the drivers side has some rot where it joins the boot floor ( the usuall place) but the other side, spare wheel well and tool well are good. The passenger and rear seat are good but the drivers back rest is worn and has splits. The dash has cracks in the normal places on the bends. The car starts & drives fine but the battery is completly knackered I do not know what to ask for this. I know what it stands me but theres not much on the market to compare so any advise please PM me or post here. The car is in North London & i would not advise driving away as it has been standing Thanks for looking
  11. Well since i gave it a clean & a hoover i am tempted. The thing is i have 3 other vehicles on the road & dont have the time to drive most of them.
  12. I really dont know, nothing much on the market to compare at the moment, i know what its standing me in at. The tax, insurance & Mot ran out over 4 years ago but i do drive it up & down the service road every few months to keep things free. The CAR IS NOT AS CLEAN as the pics show. It has a quite a few scabby bits. I can arrange to get it mot'd before i sell it. Whats anyones views.
