the joy of driving a cortina(not)
Duke Blues replied to bugsntinas's topic in Ford Cortina Discussion
I did a car show at Boston a couple of weeks ago. I was running late so i did have a bit of a jiggle on as i drove from Hull to Boston but the car took to it no problem. If ever it was going to break it would have done it on the way there 😈 -
I used a Clarke welder when i restored my car without any real issues. I haven't used other welder's so i can't compare but i was happy enough with it.

You can just buy an aftermarket one. They are cheap and reliable enough I fitted one to my mk3 so there are some pictures and information on my restoration thread in members cars. ( My 2XL resto ) For the door gaiters i used the ones from the tailgate of a Suzuki wagon R, Or a Vauxhall equivalent.

Hopefully the weather will be kind to us this year 😊 I've done a car of shows so far and I'm planning to fit in as many as i can. Hope to see any at BSC over the coming months at a show somewhere.

How long have you owned your Cortina?
Duke Blues replied to chelseablue's topic in Ford Cortina Discussion
I've owned mine for around 10 years 😊 Roll on the sunshine. -
Beautiful 😊 And not easily lost in a car park.
-
Thanks to nogE for giving me the heads up today 😊 I ended up rushing around looking for a Copy of Retro Ford Magazine. Of course I'm pleased to see my car in print, who wouldn't be.

Cheers Pete, It's been a brilliant year 😊 And the next year is just around the corner. I can't wait to get out there in the coming months and hopefully see you soon. Happy new year to all at BSC. It's new years Eve 😄

our son Ben was taken to his prom in the Cortina at his request but when our daughter Elisha and her boy friend Joe i was very proud. we arrived amid a queue of fancy cars and old bangers but the press photographer made a B-line for us when we arrived :icecream: then they pushed me out of the way :shocking: so that they could picture our daughter and her boy friend in front of the car. what a year.....

i only lifted the bonnet to let the engine cool :icecream: i'm no trophy hunter...... people just like to leave me gifts
