  3. I did a car show at Boston a couple of weeks ago. I was running late so i did have a bit of a jiggle on as i drove from Hull to Boston but the car took to it no problem. If ever it was going to break it would have done it on the way there 😈
  4. I used a Clarke welder when i restored my car without any real issues. I haven't used other welder's so i can't compare but i was happy enough with it.
  5. You can just buy an aftermarket one. They are cheap and reliable enough I fitted one to my mk3 so there are some pictures and information on my restoration thread in members cars. ( My 2XL resto ) For the door gaiters i used the ones from the tailgate of a Suzuki wagon R, Or a Vauxhall equivalent.
  6. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us this year 😊 I've done a car of shows so far and I'm planning to fit in as many as i can. Hope to see any at BSC over the coming months at a show somewhere.
  7. I've owned mine for around 10 years 😊 Roll on the sunshine.
  8. Beautiful 😊 And not easily lost in a car park.
  9. Thanks to nogE for giving me the heads up today 😊 I ended up rushing around looking for a Copy of Retro Ford Magazine. Of course I'm pleased to see my car in print, who wouldn't be.

Burton constable hall get out of the way kid your spoiling the view  this weeks little excursion it was a frosty start to the day but eventually the sun shone. when the roads dried up i decided it was time for a blast. it was a very cold day but with the heater on it was bliss driving into the sunset on a winters afternoon as i drove around the other day a man in a car drew up along side and opened his passenger side window and said, that's well fkn tidy that mate. it's a credit to you. try not to feel good..........

  16. a proud moment :D my daughter asked to be taken to the prom in our Cortina  as our daughter turned up in the best car amongst the limo's,Range Rover's and family hack's it made it into the local paper B) photo shoot around the old town,
  17. on going maintenance :chain: brand new throttle cable snapped and had to be replaced, alternator packed up and had to be replaced, on going running problems had me stripping the carburetor most weekends :angry2: it turned out to be a faulty jet. the jet is supposed to be capped off but on the new one the little metal plug was missing and it took me quite some time before i noticed <_< the car runs beautifully now :car: i have also had to replace a broken speedo cable and a snapped clutch cable, re ajust the back brakes and sort out the odd wiring fault.

  19. hello folks, i hope you are all having a good Christmas :magic: i haven't posted for a while due to technical issues but i hope that they are resolved now...... i've had a pretty good year this year with getting the car back on the road and changing jobs. i have been to a few car shows ( most weekends :icecream: ) and a tour of the Yorkshire Dales which was brilliant. i have also met a few BSC members which was long over due. Cortina mk3 day, it poured with rain all of the way there and in places the roads were flooded so the car got well and truly christened, but thankfully Andy had saved me a camping spot and a beer
