Where's the best place to get a new/refurbed brake master cylinder? Piston free, but No fluid comes out any of the 3 outlets when pushing the pedal. Image is of my current one. Thanks.

After nearly 7 years since I sold my last mk5, I recently bought this at auction, 1.6 carousel, one owner from new, full history, fully Ziebart treatment from new and original bill of sale from Ford.

Thanks. My co worker I bought it from back then was from Brighton, so she could of had it from new. It does show up on a MoT check, but yeah a tax check shows no trace.

thought mine needed replacing as had power getting to it but would not work, mate of mine who refurbs things like that found the plunger in the solinoid was sticking, so freed it off, £10 fix :)

Hi, been told my diff or axle bearings need replacing as its had a whining/graunch noise since I bought it last year, has anyone had a refurb done and what sort of cost could I expect from a garage/specialist?. DON'T REALLY WANT TO GO DOWN SECOND HAND ROUTE AS I WOULD NOT KNOW IF I WAS BUYING ANOTHER BAD ONE. Thanks in advance :)

I take mine to work once or twice week, 75 mile round trip and then on weekend, love driving it and like people say, leaving it for long periods does them no good.

I got a white one off ebay few weeks back, what a git of a job, biting point is now high but buggered if I'm taking it off again anytime soon, ill live with it lol...

Please to say my MK5 passed its MOT today, some advisories. I was worried as thought last MOT by previous owner may of been a bit dubious, so very happy right now :) Advisory notice item(s): Nearside indicator tell tale light not inoperative but audible sound noise sounding injuries in nearside and offside of windscreen swept areas Rear Brake pipe slightly corroded nearside and offside (3.6.B.2c) all tyres perishing and cracking fitment of rear brake hose Rear brakes slightly imbalanced Rear Trailing arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement nearside and offside (2.4.G.2)

I had rostyles on my old Mk5 which I sold, now have another Mk5 2.0 Ghia :)

While out in my MK5 for a cruise I ended up 5 cars behind a White MK5 heading up A29 from Billingshurst, think was a Ghia, turned off towards Ockley but I had to go towards Horsham. Anyone know who that was or was it you? unfortunately could not see reg. lol... Was going to try and wave you down for a chat but did not get close enough...

Got some great news from the Police today after 4 months of uncertainty and worry. :) :) :) "Our investigation is now closed. All lines of enquiry were exhausted. There were no sufficient evidence to establish who stole the vehicle or if the vehicle were ever stolen". The case is now closed. All the best Can now finally start doing some bits :)
