  1. yes it might, but as it is semi broken i've decided to weld it up . will need a front bar for the roof-lining tho ... Why the alternator is upside down ? - i got no idea its not like that on my mk2
  2. here's the engine bay in question chassis is rather good for such an old car , just needs minor welding (new frontfloor-pan (partial) / new rear lightcluster valance, and some chassisrail-repair will also weld shut the sun-roof while at it
  3. thanks guys - i'll remove it and paint the engine bay - when i'm at it
  4. So this car now is in Norway, and ill be started on shortly perana mk 3 Thanks Steve for a smooth deal. First question up is about the engine bay. It's now covered in som sort of black "underseal"/wrinkle paint . I can't imagine this beeing an original mod from Perana, but can't find any photos on internett confirming it or not. Any opinions ??
  5. thought the mk1 capri as the first ford perana product ebay ad
  6. Thanks Hans - i'll keep the tube then (thought that only remote servo cars had this tube... ) car is now in primer as we speek will be looking for some better chrome details but not in a hurry for that (bumpers and rear chrome parts) Car will be shown for the norwegian dvla in september as that was first time available, should be easy going getting norwegian plates on it - but then again i'm born optimistic - :)
  7. will have a look for any stamps om the cyl. but at first glance i would have classified it as unoriginal 8or at least a newer plastic reservoir) While tightening up the engine-bay i will get rid of the vacum steel tube (no reason for having it as i don't think LHD cars should have it - because of the non-remote servo - - but i might be wrong) Battery clamp is easily changed there's also the relay - which i think is connected to either the us-spec directonal lights or the reverse lights . no problems with original-police Magnus -- you know i love it :icecream: (hadn't noticed the rad - think i might have a ordinary rad somewhere in my barn)
  8. well the chassis# is for a 2 door deluxe exportmodel, april 1968, the 1600E and the US-spec directionlights MIGHT have been added by Crayford when they did the conversion. The car was first registered to the dutch main-forddealership/importer. Since the conversion by that time took around 6 months at the most during the "summer-season" at crayford the 69 dash and the E-specs might have been added then or then again later. When it comes to BMC crayford-customers could tick the option-list for options that were only available for other countries - I guess the same option were there for Ford-models - hence the us-spec lights maybe ? Outside paint is quite good - profesionally resprayed 8-10years by the looks of it, but since its a non-original colour and i'm repainting the engine-compartment .... (i like my cars "original" ) It have both front-dorglass chromestrips present - which is good news, i would look into the option of reproducing them now :) It also have those chrome-strips below the rear-side windows that i only seen on a few crayfords. Don't have too many pics at the moment but here's one of the engine (newly overhauled)
  9. Drove this up from Holland this week it have non-original green metalic paint job , will repaint it with the original colour CM = Alpina Green (not necessary for the outside - but as the engine compartment needs a bit of paint .... ) Originally bought by the the main-importer for fords in holland, and sendt to crayford for conversion
  10. no i think i have sourced one (havent arrived in norway yet - but it should be underway..
  11. could anyone in cortinaland help me with the paintcode for a white mk 4 -1982 model cortina :headscratch:
  12. as per title , could also just but the anchor bit as the body is good, but shouldnt be hard to get a mk2 starter ? Must be posted to norway
