Really stupid question but as title says, my gear leaver has a vibration on my type 9 V6 gearbox. is there like a nylon washer or something that sits under the leaver? if so whats it called?? trying to search but can not find what people call it or if my gearbox has one! cheers

About time i put an update up! I have come across a few issues on the rear end. 1st was the prop, first i assumed it was a cortina prop! same as mk3/4/5 but the diff flange did not match.... found a Corsair V4 prop flange matches up so just need to get one made now . 2nd problem has been a major issue in realising the rear wheels are not the right fitment for the car, previous owner looks like to have filed the wheels slightly to match the stud pattern! this is obviously a big no no for a road car! 3rd issue has been unable to find front brake disks as they are no longer made so i have changed the front hubs for Cortina mk3/4/5 ones. on the plus side i do have the Granada brake upgrade off my mk3 i have been able to fit. This however requires new wheels for the front! All in all its taken a lot more work than expected but i can now see light at the end of the road! New wheels for front and rear have been ordered from the US, going to take 2/3 weeks to get here but could not get the correct offsets in the UK.

Just wanted to check that was all, the pickup has had so much work done to it was not sure what was normal and what's extra lol Cheers
-
Cheers for all the info and help guys, just for future reference the flange is the same as Corsair V4 👍 can finally messure and get prop made up 😁.
-
Some more pictures of the axle! could not find any marking or names on it but it could do with a clean up.
-
I have 2 more props to try (just need to go and pick up) this week, one is off an Anglia so will see how i get on. I will try get some photos of the axle and post up this week and see if its the standard one!
-
Ok cheers for that, once i get down and measure it i think its more like 88 than 92 but will check again. just seems odd they would use the Anglia diff flange on a cortina pick up! I believe the axle is the kolin but not sure on the diff. I though it was all standerd stuff but the truck has been messed with a lot over the years so it could have changed!

I managed to pick up a propshaft off a mk4 cortina, not sure what engine it was out of but unfortunately it don't fit, center fits in but the bolt holes are further spread out! Any ideas what might fit??
-
I guess i could check my mk3 and see if its the same, just under the impression its different!

I need to have a prop made up for my P100. I have the gearbox end but I need the flange to fix onto diff. Can someone confirm what prop flange would fit? Cheers

change hubs/shafts on cortina P100 rear axle
Smithaam replied to Smithaam's topic in Technical Discussion
Cheers for that! will probably just keep as is for now. the wheels on the back of my pickup dont fit properly so was looking to open up more wheel choices! -
might have sorted a pair not but will let you know if there any problems. thanks
-
yea its just the hub im after, was thinking there was another carrier for the caliper but was getting my cars mixed up lol
-
I'm looking at my rear axle on my pick up and thinking of changing the hubs on there for 4 std. I do have an Atlas off a mk3 cortina but I'm guessing the shafts are not interchangeable?? just looking for some info and options.
-
As said I need a pair of front hubs of a mk3/4/5 cortina complete with carrier for the calipers. Thanks

Bit more work done this weekend! front end has been strengthened and lights fitted. also clutch all working now as had to convert to hydraulic to match gearbox 🙂 Going to start on rear of the car this next week as need to lift the back end up, once that is done i can get a prop made and she should be mobile then.
-
yeah i have found that out! might be able to save the ones i have but will ave to see. otherwise will have to change the front hubs for the 4 stud car ones.
-
Sorry my mistake but don't believe they will fit mine unfortunately! Mines cortina based.

Front brake disks any good?
-
Some parts can be a pain to find but the owners club is very good, got most parts for the resto through them. I no idea what the wheels came off on the P100, don't believe they are banded but not really looked at them much yet. will start .ing around with the brakes soon so will take a better look then.

Thanks guys. The classic has just been finished and now back on the road 🙂 just need to use it a bit now to see how it runs.
