Hi mate, did try getting dimensions but could not get them accurate enough to be worth wile.

Here is a bit of an update! Car is almost back on the road, just a lot of tidying up to do. Should finish the fuel lines off tomorrow and then just waiting on a small fuse box to sort out the wires in the engine bay then off for MOT :) once back on the road i get get it booked in for the exhaust but there is about a 3/4 week waiting list for that so wont be doing many miles lol The pictures show the underside with new fuel pump and the ARBs fitted.

Think I need a new cap then, my caps been sprayed so might have got clogged up.

fitted today, bit tight with the ARB but sits well. will try take a photo tomorrow as still got to wire it all up. Also is there a breather on the Mk3 tank? had to drain the tank today and had to remove the fuel cap to relieve pressure?

It should be the same as a Zetec to type 9 conversion so I'm assuming the starter is the same as a 2.0L sierra?? There are no markings on he retro ford starter so unable to check what it's off.

used the cortina cross member, might have added a plate to it now, can't remember but will take a photo when get it back on the ramp.

we have found a place, going to make a bracket between tank and spare wheel, will try post some photos up when done.

St170 with Capri type 9 box

Not long fitted my type 9, only different is mine is a capri box. We just re drilled the cross member and fits fine and speedo cable was just strait fit. I brought my clutch and modified flywheel from retro ford due to running a higher power. Just fitted the modified prop today, was originally a 1600 xflow so had the end chopped and replaced with donut sierra end balanced. was a lot cheaper to have modified than buy a new prop shaft. Having problems with my starter motor as the teeth have been damaged wile engaging, this was new from retro ford so going to speak to them Monday. not sure what the starter is but am i right in assuming its a sierra one??

I finely managed to start my car for the first time since the engine transplant but i had noticed a screech sound from the starter motor! after removing the starter i have noticed damage to the teeth :( I had all the parts new from Retro-Ford so the flywheel and starter should match up and im unsure what would have caused the damage! Retro Ford are closed at the moment so will have to wait till Monday to speak to them but was asking if anyone has any ideas what could have caused damage like this?

its injection, we tested it in the engine bay to get the engine running but is way to loud to stay there. Going to stick it on the ramp the weekend and have a good look around.

Yeah i thought as much but was looking for how people have mounted them as it looks like i may have to go beside the tank.

Adding a electric fuel pump to my Mk3 and I'm just wondering where people have mounted them? I have a cylinder type pump but it quite noisy.

It was a lot of trial and error! The mounting plates on the engine was from the universal kit from retro ford, then it was drop engine in and cut and weld the steal plates on! i will try get the measurements over the weekend as never took any when making them.

Right it been a wile since I last updated but the engine is in and fitted to a custom made plenum and the original throttle body! All hoses etc are on and fitted and now is just the wiring. I had the loom made for the engine and it's going to be running a Emerald ECU. I'm hoping the auto electrician is coming over this weekend to finalise the wiring and make sure what I have done is right! So maybe she might be running :-D Still got to have the prop made and then exhaust after that but she is comming along very well :-) Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

The UJ type if possible :) I'm assuming they are all 2 piece props?

sorry reading it back it does sound a bit confusing. the gearbox is in the car fitted and works fine :) Its the prop I was having issues with. yeah I have the original 1.6 prop and the yoke (think that's what its called) is to small to fit the type 9 box. also being the V6 box it has a 40mm spacer and that pushes the box back. will any 2.0l prop have the correct yoke to fit the box? if so I need a 2.0l prop, preferable one for a Cortina :)

I am running a type9 gearbox but i believe its the V6 Capri one, i have got to have my propshaft shortened slightly but i also need the shaft that goes into the gearbox as the original Cortina one is to small. I could buy a Capri prop but it seems a shame to spend £70 odd quid to just cut the end off. Whats the chances of someone having one?? or any idea where i can get one??? Cheers

Engine is finally in :-) had to make own monts in the end but looks good and pleased with the results. The exhaust was not just a bolt on job, needed to cut and weld as it was hitting the floor. Also had to put a dent in the side as it was touching the starter housing but easily sorted :-) Next on list in sort the gearbox mounts out and then see what's got to be done with the drive shaft, thinks it's got to be shortened slightly but will have to see. a bit of polishing needed there! going to nice watching this project :)

The calipers mountings are a bit to big when photos taken, i have had to have the mounts machined down 4mm, there is still some of the disk not used but sits a lot better than what that picture shows.
