  1. im not putting a single untreated nut bolt or screw on this car.

It's all in the details Mr C. But I really think you should've put auto lights in the build 😜😂👌🏻

are autolights wheels? excuse my ignorance mr Ken!!

Sorry should've been more clearer, Automatic two stage headlights (side/main) with the auto switchable high beam assist.

  2. clock pulse on a 555 Jayne then fed into 4017 decade counter but only using 6 digits, first 4 on colour drive via some 2n222s and some relay outputs used to. its part of the arm disarm sequence too. also feeding the low fuel/high temp/oil/frost into the quad colour master lamp

considered pic chip or arduino, however could nto at this point justify the time investment on learning the c+ coding or the pic prog procedure.

i guess not quite enough complexity in my setup to justify the potential of an arduino. i did conside running a total system on it but i felt i was better off with individual modules in this case.

the 4017 is pretty bulletproof 555 etc

the car will has the ford harness 'drop in' on top of the sublooms, by carefully noting the connection points i can fault find in future if necassary

I love the idea of a PIC chip though and arduino. not sure about raspberry pie have you ever experimented with the raspberry unit / arduino

its somethign ill be looking at in future

its a bit labourious verobaording in and with my eyes these days a lot harder than the college days!

Nice feeling getting the clock pulse up and stepping the 4017 though!

just gotta link in to the warning lamp now so that the 12v outs from the warnign lamps are seperated from the 4017 circuit,i may optocouple them yet not sure, rewason to isolate is voltage spikes etc

1970's. Before cars got all the electronics and got complicated 😂 It's all gobbledygook to me but I love it 👍🏼👌

  3. The BMW M3 had a nice chime which operated when you exceeded a certain speed. Possibly this one: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574629005&toolid=10001&campid=5335900709&customid=&mpre=http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121912623831

Yep come standard on many BMW my x5 has the same thing they are multi toned for different things ie parking sensors front and rear + different warnings more of a BONGING TONE of them.
