  1. Yes im getting more and more sure that it isnt set up right. Very jealous of your engine bay! More things have been discovered. -Needs a new sump as the modified one was a bodge. -The gearbox mount is also bodged -The starter motor gear is no good -The gearbox is missing the plate cover Went to real steel on friday, picked up a sump but its chrome so need to get a black one. Had to count the flywheel teeth to get the right starter as well. Going back tomorrow to get more parts. Want a manual box too but unsure which one to get.
  2. thanks for commenting! im not sure on the tail lights myself but its meant to be a hot rod so it sort of works. Im guessing from the lack interest so far that you guys dont like it i dunno :/
  3. Yes i was surprized by the missing inner wings, im not happy with the manifolds where they are, ive be told i can get tight bending ones from the US which i will investigate. Honestly could they be stock cortina steel wheels ? Id like to do some shows but i dont think it will be running right until next year.
  4. Just read the whole thread and you have have done a very good job sir, i wish my v8 was put in as necely as yours has, can i ask you a few questions about engine, what fuel pump did you use ? what gearbox did you use ? Thanks mike.
  5. Heres my newly purchased mk5 Cortina, saw it on ebay for a while and the guy finally accepted my offer, hasnt had tax for a while so i got it transported to me. Its not finished but hopefully i can finish it not to long from now. Has a 302 small block v8, edelbrock carb and inlet, C6 auto box, capri headlighs and corsair rear lights. Capri diff and all the bushes have been poly bushed, Recently reprayed purple with white stripes, banded rear wheels and custom stainless exhuast. Got delivered from colchester on a back of a truck, was very tight needed many bits of wood. Now the problems i have found so far are quite a bit, the engine doesnt run right needs setting up properly, the gear selector really clunks into gear but maybe it needs a bit more oil as its halfway at the momonet or the piping needs looking at. The seats arent bolted in properly, hasnt got a speedo or fuel guage either. And now the starter doesnt inguage the flywheel so i have to take that off to see whats going on. The front wheels hit the manifolds so the turning circle is pretty poor and the wiring needs sorting out. So things to do on my list: -Maybe new mordern V8 -Seat belt holes -Door handles -Window handles -Starter motor removal -Roof lining -Front wheel spacers -Carb clean -Weld/change diff -Speedo dial -Fuel guage -Top up gearbox oil -New number plates -Heater switch -Finish floor carpet -Steering wheel -Fix horn -Change suspension Heres some pics, hope you guys approve.
