  1. I like a balance, cars are there to be driven but it's nice to keep them looking good and showing them, my saph is my daily driver I love driving it i also love polishing the life out of it and taking it to shows, it's far from concourse but it's a nice example that can be enjoyed not just by me but the people who see it
  2. Ideally those pumps should be close to the tank, just watch with being in the engine bay you don't suffer with fuel vaporisation when the engine is hot
  3. C20xe, most things are available off the shelf to turn it the correct way and the wiring is easy, mate it up to a type 9 and your laughing, for my project I havn't started yet I got an XE, wiring and ecu by buying a car and breaking it, i made money on the car so the engine was free, out of the profit I bought a complete manta 1.8 engine for the sump, pickup and a few other bits and a bellhousing adapter and release arm for type 9 and it still hasn't cost me anything yet, I'm fabricating the mounts and am going to buy an Ashley 4 branch manifold for an XE into escort then get an exhaust made
  4. What condition are the seats in?
  5. Could you not use the manifold you have for the mk2 or are you going for concourse? I think your going to be hard pressed to find the plain mk1 manifold You could also try putting a request on old skool ford and turbosport
  6. ^Spot on This is the escort rs2000 type which the part number does starts 71hf, it's not for sale though I thought I'd take a picture for you so you knew what it looked like There's a couple on ebay http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Escort-Mk1-RS2000-Exhaust-Manifold-/232005452436?nav=SEARCH http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-ESCORT-MK1-MK2-2000-RS-RS2000-MANIFOLD-RS-/272282903265?nav=SEARCH
  7. Morris minor fuel pumps, there's a blast from the past
  8. What you want is a small facet pump and a sytec dial pressure adjuster, i fit them to most things and havn't had a problem yet, This is a decent price for the pair http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Facet-Posi-Flow-Electronic-4-0-6-Psi-Fuel-Pump-Sytec-Pressure-Regulator-8mm-Kit-/371117126111?nav=SEARCH
  9. No problem I had the same problem last week on a sierra the speedo was jumping up and down like a 90s raver, i fitted a new cable at the same time as fitting a new speedo and the square section at the end of the cable just didn't locate in the clocks properly, I pulled the inner section of the cable out a bit so I could push it in the square hole in the speedo first then pushed the clocks back slightly while clipping the outer on the clocks that sorted it
  10. Check the cable is seated in the back of the clocks properly and not trapped anywhere causing the inner to snag
  11. As said a big cheers sheffcortinacentre for dropping off a front bumper at the bodyshop that's repairing it, you are an absolute diamond and I'm a bit gutted I wasn't around to say hello and meet you, I was working on my Capri
