Adim can you included the P100 to the list of other Cortinas in the e-bay section .....thanks
-
Unfortunately the bench seat has been taken out so a bit hard to push the screen out
As for cutting the rubber being a late P100 I don't want to destroy it just in case I can't find another one .
-
I'll be removing the windscreen on my P100 soon to tackle the scuttle and bulkhead rust .
I'm a bit nervous in removing the screen without cracking it, and I want to save the rubber too.
Has anybody got some tips for removal thx.

50 minutes ago, Smithaam said:Some parts can be a pain to find but the owners club is very good, got most parts for the resto through them.
I no idea what the wheels came off on the P100, don't believe they are banded but not really looked at them much yet. will start .ing around with the brakes soon so will take a better look then.
Keep me posted and some pics if they are are . I'll be thinking of banding mine it give that sleeper look

Wanted a pair of cills inner and outer or together for a mk5, they are going to be cut in half to fit my P100 . Also a decent drives and passengers side floor pan maybe from a donor car if anybody is cutting one up.

Nice to see out of its crib Tony .
Good luck with the mot
Great you got a decent tonneau , if it fits nicely that would be a good patten for me to have one made up
-
Great to see a bit more progress Tony. Are you keeping the sierra tail gate set up or modifying the bed to suit the cortina one ?

Has anybody got a lumenition system on a V6 Essex if so what degrees have you set your timing ?

I put on Facebook last week if anybody local who works on old cars would like to come around and get my XR running , to cut along story short I mixed up the firing order and the inlet manifold was sucking in air for the gasket
today in attic conditions a local petrol head replaced the inlet gasket set the tappets set up the timing top bloke .
P100 slowly getting rebuilt and the mk5 racing shell pushed into my barn .
-
Last year some of you my remember I replaced the exhaust gasket and broke a stud off in the head resulting in me taking taking it off and drilling it out .
Got all back together and couldn't get it started timing again
In the end a friend of mine came to visit he was an ex mechanic and we got it going with just a tweak of the diss and was running ok part from the tappets were noisy .
So that's was last year ,
Thought I better get the tappets done because I want to bring it out this year in which I have done .But I must admit I have moved the distributor about and now it doesn't start .
Now I lost my enthusiasm and patience to sort it PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ? . Graham
-
Lost my patience with it !
Please can someone with a bit of knowledge come and help me get my XR started and running .
It's diffidently a timing issue .
-
Gong to take it off and get the correct size and i will change both sides it will have to wait till Monday now doh !

Thanks for the reply guys . In the end I brought a set of Nationals from Direct car parts in Uxbridge the guy there said they are a good quality make .
This morning I fitted them myself and took less than hour and very straight forward to fit.
Well I say I fitted them but I only done the o/s which was the one that was warped . Question ; do I need to do both side ? and I notice the the new disc are slightly smaller than the old ones 10mm or so. We this effect anything later on as it drives and stops with no problem at the moment . The size differ I quest with the pay loads of the vehicle in which I will not be carry anything too heavy.

I just brought a Vauxhall combo van for work and it needs a set of brake disc so can anybody recommend a decent manufacture .
I've seen various types on e-bay but I don't fancy buying some cheap Chinese make made of tinfoil .

The alloys are in PE14 but can be brought back to MK45 .
They are not mint and I've painted them gold I also got the centre caps too. £125.
Where abouts are you ?
