  6. Cheers buzzard, I will start with upping the tick over a little, I have been a bit tight with using a additive to up the octane, I will give it a go by upping it slowly. I had to use nearly 25% more than stated when I had a old V8 P5b Rover. Nice to know its nothing that will break the bank.
  7. Hi Guys Happy Easter and I hope you have all stopped the kids eating choc eggs in the back of the tinas. As the weather is warming up my beloved tina is running lumpy and I am having to gun her a bit at the lights to keep her going, this only happens when she has warmed up. Any ideas? A dead keen new boy.
  8. HI Guys I feel like I'm looking for rocking horse poo, do any of you lovely people have a Mk5 estate rear belt uprights laying around that you keep tripping over and the wife keeps saying "hey why don't you sell them to a lovely bloke from south London" well, here's your chance. make your wife and my day by selling them to me. joking aside, anyone know where I can get some or even something like them? Cheers Lads
  9. If you could have a look that would be ace, I'm on the Southbank near Waterloo. I can be free any days apart from Monday and Wednesdays. It would be great to have a follow Mk5 fan have a look at her as she has been under raps for years.

  11. Hi Guys Yesterday I put on the Steering/brakes notice board the below question "I'm not sure what's going on but when ever I go over a bump (sleeping policeman ect) and my NSF wheel hits it first there is a loud metallic squeak from the NSF area. The only why I can describe it is like an old squeaky bed in a carry on film. Any ideas?" I've had two very helpful members (cheers guys) get back to me. One said a broken Spring and the other said maybe a worn bush. Sadly I haven't the time, space or knowledge to have a go at either jobs, PLEASE does anyone know of a friendly Garage or Cortina Mk5 nut who would be happy to fix my lovely motor. Other than that she is pure showroom, a real head turner. (1982 Mk5 2litter Estate, DTM 470Y) She was owned for 15 years and rebuilt by Martin Vagg Ex Vice Chair of the Ford Cortina Owners Club. So to say that she is a show stopper is an understatement. I bought her from the brother of Martin who has now sadly passed away. She has an 11 month MOT. All is fine and dandy apart from this sodding loud squeak. Please help guys, any garages in London that are manned by people who have worked on Mk5s before, cheers guys.
