hi all,
earlier this year i fitted a v6 to a corsair with column shift. well now i've got to replace the bushes on the column shift linkage on it. does anyone know where to source the bushes these days? i used capri rod box ones on a zodiac years ago so it's a fair bet the corsair ones are the same too so zephyr/zodiac, capri, corsair, cortina etc etc. gear change linkage/rod bushes is what i'm after if anyone can help.
thanks, neil.

most bodyshops will still have a few days bodywork to do before paint after the customer has 'done it all'. the average person can't see the flaws in the body that a professional can.

cam kit and webers sold.

been pi**ing hard here today so not done much. got the slam panel unwrapped and it's not nos as i was told. it is a s/hand panel carefully removed and with new end sections fairly neatly welded on. on this basis i will take £100 for it.

Let's try again, your man is every bit as good as you say and more. As others have said it's in good hands. It'll be a great car when done for sure. Neil.

hi, great car. i do like the 4 headlamp grill on these. please say you've fitted a new cambelt after the car has sat for so long? it'd be a real shame to have it break now you know it runs so well. cheers, neil.

in the past i always fitted the solid bushes to the top arms both ends. never had any issues and most had 2.8 v6's fitted and driven hard (i was younger then). there's enough flex that binding isn't an issue but as above it's you're choice. neil.

I thought you were just applying for a log book in your name? Whats all the rest of this got to do with it? I'm confused. He plans to fit a chrysler/dodge 318ci engine to it.

You didn't read the full post with a 'lol' at the end then? I always read my posts before adding them to a thread so as not to cause offence but obviously you just got the wrong end of the stick, we all can sometimes. As I said no offence was intended but if you don't want to accept that.....
-
The person doing the work knows what he is doing and know more abut his job than you do. :angry2:absolutely no offence meant there fella so no need to take any, it was just an observation (you know the sills are curved after all) and was definately not a critisism of anyone's work. i've been doing my own fabrication, body and paintwork for donkeys years and know how much easier it is when the car's at a comfortable height to work on. good luck with it.
ps how do you know he knows more about bodywork than me? i can take offence too, at least i could if i wasn't so thick skinned 'lol'.

I chuckled when I saw the spirit level on the sill, corsair sills dip down in the middle along their length lol.

It shouldn't matter but the paint on Ashley exhausts is not heat proof, it's just 'transit paint' meaning it's there to stop rust during transit/storage. It will burn off quickly once the engine is running.

If you cut the bulkhead and or tunnel back for clearance you're outside the 8 points so if that's the plan you need to build to biva spec. First thing to check is front screen availability with ec43r (pretty sure that's it) marking. If they are available everything else is straightforward. As mentioned on rodsnsods a 302 ford is an easier swap without cutting required."8 point rule"Yes I found out about this recently also :glare:

If you only want it for cruising then local runs will be fine but unless you put a t9 behind the v6 it won't be a very relaxed cruiser on the motorway. You'd be much better off with a 2.0 or 2.3 axle, you'll be much happier in the long enough.
