  1. Squashing them seems to hold well enough on the old coil. For the new coil, I'm thinking a short section of 6mm tube with the inside tapped to 5mm should screw on nicely and beef the terminals up to the same size as the old one.
  2. Thanks. Yes, I thought that would be the case. Might have a bash at making some terminal adapters.
  3. Hi All, I'm looking for some advice on ignition coil "+" and "-" terminal connectors. With the coil I currently have fitted, the connectors are a bit of a sloppy fit... So I have distorted them slightly to allow them to make better contact: On the new coil I have, the terminals are smaller still! Had a Google to see if any adapters exist, but to no avail... Now I could snip the old connectors off and replace them with ring crimps, then fasten on with nuts... Just seems a shame to remove the original connectors. Would like to hear what others do in this situation. Cheers, Tom
  4. Thanks, will give it a go! :)
  5. Sorry, my mistake. Can't seem to edit post for some reason though? Ah, good to know!
  6. This is off a '73, 1600L, mk3, pre facelift... Do any of you lovely folk know if this pin, that the clutch arm pivots on, is meant to be held in with more than just friction? cos mine isn't... Cheers, Tom
  7. Thanks for the responses! Will look at changing the fuel pipe as well... 👍
  8. Damn, really?!! They have been like this since i bought the car over a year ago! (and probably many years before!) I see what you're saying, so the solid pipes should loop round the brackets to allow the flexi hoses to be mounted facing the other way? makes sense now, the way they were bending seemed unhealthy... Thanks for the advise!
  9. Thanks for the reply, I've tried to add a link to the photos... (not too sure how to attach them properly)
  10. Hi everyone, I could do with some advice, please! I noticed that my front drivers side brake hose is rubbing on my tyre, when on full lock... Is this simply an incorrect (too long?) aftermarket part or is something amiss here? After i saw this i thought best to check the passenger side... It's not rubbing on the tyre, but it looks like it's over-bending(?) near the bracket, so even if the hoses are the wrong ones it would still wear at this same point? i've noticed that on the passenger side the bracket (that connects the hose to the copper pipe) is positioned a lot closer to the suspension spring than the drivers side. (i've tried to photograph it best i could) My though was that the bracket has bent, causing this over bending hose... However the brake line splitter joint is mounted behind it and doesn't seem to be out of place? Any thoughts would be great... Cheers!
  11. Ah, makes sense... Still think it's worth a go, i do a fair bit of machining for my job so i'm quite confident on accuracy, but i see what you're saying...
  12. Surprisingly not! or at least not within reasonable distance to me... Would the whole shaft not be hardened? as in, not just the skin of it?
