  1. Just canvassing your thoughts Hans...would you agree a Mountney MB026 boss is the way to go, given your thoughts about the Corsair 2000E steering being interchangeable with Cortinas Mk1 & Mk 2?
  2. Top man! Big thanks to both Hans and your good self for taking the time to help. Looking forward to a successful conclusion...Will advise of outcome as and when.
  3. Thanks for your helpful contribution, Steve. So (subject to checking, as you say) the Moutney MB026 is the boss? Is that all I need? I get confused if an adapter is also required - or is a boss and adapter the same thing? Is an adapter what you mean by "fittings used"? Anyway this could be key info, so a big thanks to you. Best regards Bill
  4. Hi Hans, Sorry for the delay. I'd have the same problem with a drawing as with a photograph. But I gave measured the PCD on my 6-bolt Kyostar wheel. This is based on this definition: that the PCD is measured from the inside of one hole directly across to the outside of the hole opposite. On that basis, the PCD is 7cm or 70mm. And, for reference, this is my type of wheel... It would show a pic of my type of wheel. Cheers Hans, Best regards, Bill. https://app.photobucket.com/u/1968Corsair/p/4121be18-17c4-41d4-b91a-acaf0c583375

  6. Further to that, Hans, this the detail from the Ebay site where I bought the wheel...I know it says that it "Universally fits with any Standard 6-Bolt Racing Hub Adapters" ...but I want to be sure I get the right hub/adapter. by the way, is a boss the same thing as an "adapter". Or do you need both? You can tell I'm confused! Here is the advertisement text... 15'' Universal Steering Wheel Classic Wood Silver Spoke 50mm Deep Dish with Horn Description: The frame is made of high quality aluminum and high quality wood. 380mm Diameter 50mm Deep Dish Vintage Spec. Universally fits with any Standard 6-Bolt Racing Hub Adapters (e.g. Nardi, Personal, Momo, Sparco,…etc.). Horn Button is Retained. 7. Hi Hans...I'm afraid I'm having a little difficulty loading pics (apparently I need a Photobucket account) but I've measured the diameter of the steering wheel hole and it is approx 5.5cm or 55mm). Hope that helps. Also, you can see an image of the type of wheel it is by doing an internet search (or Ebay search) for Kyostar 15 inch Wood Rim Steering Wheel. -- Bill
  8. Forgot to say, I don't have a Hunter. The name comes from a classic track from my favourite band - Free. They always closed their sets with "The Hunter"!
  9. That should be UNSURE OF !!
  10. Hi Hans, this is really interesting as it clearly demonstrates the Corsair steering wheel / fitment is pretty much interchangeable with the Mk1 & 2 Cortina wheel set-up. Thanks for showing this so clearly. What I'm still I'm sure of is what boss I'd require in order to fit my aftermarket wood rim wheel (It's a 6-bolt type). Would it help if I attached a pic of the wheel?
  11. Of course, Hans - thanks for your help! I take it from your name and reference to a LHD 2000E that you are based abroad? Even more reason for me to say "thanks". Look forward to hearing from you soon. - Bill.
  12. Thanks so much for your really helpful replies.I did not realise that you had a Corsair 2000E! If you could test fit one that would be really helpful...from that I'd feel more confident before taking a punt on a boss. I'll wait for you to get back to me before doing anything else. And thanks again!
  13. Thanks for the swift reply. You say a Cortina Mk 1 or Mk 2 steering wheel would fit. Do I then assume a steering boss advertised as fitting a Cortina of Mk1 or 2 vintage would be compatible with my 2000E?
  14. Hi all, just after some advice ..is the steering assembly on my 67 Corsair 2000E the same as the Cortina Mk 2 (or possibly Mk1)? I ask because I need a suitable boss to help fit an aftermarket wood-rim steering wheel...most searches indicate plenty available for various Cortinas, but no mention of the Corsair. I'm no expert but would have thought the Corsair 2000E had many interchangeable components with either the Cortina Mk1 or 2. Any help gratefully received.
