OK. Thanks for clarifying - must be my memory playing up

Interesting to know. But the 2000E is Facelift & as such, different door cards and don't have the armrest right to the door edge like a pre facelift (well, at least more inline with the seat bolster as opposed to facelift ones). Either way, fingers crossed I pick them up OK and if needs be, I might have to think ( or have an excuse)about making some......... Tigerskin door cards!........

Cheers, just seemed to remember fitting/swapping for Mk4 Ghia seats many moons ago (from mates car while he wasn't looking) only to find that they fitted ok, but I couldn't close the doors unless I removed the door cards... Will take a punt & try them out

Hi all. Quick query - am I right in remembering that later front seats are wider at the back & as such, don't leave enough room to shut the door on Pre facelift mk3 XL door cards (due to armrests)? Only I'm toying with the idea of proper headrests & I always have (tiger fur) seat covers on.......

A quick search provided www.weber-carbs.co.uk Chelmsford 07976 985477. Never used them/know anything about them, but it's a proper registered business so may be worth a call/look....

No longer needed. Thanks

Hi all. Am in need of a replacement headlight relay for my '72 XL & was wondering if anyone had one for sale? Thanks

Why thank you, kind Sir! As for £800......... 🤣

Pictures didn't do it enough justice! Pleasure to meet you & see/hear it in the flesh. Thanks for wanting to look under my hood & subsequently spotting my wayward oil pressure wire (it's only 52 years old-you would have thought the wire would last longer before breaking off 😉)

Looks blooming marvelous! Hope to see it in the flesh - can really appreciate how much work you've done to get to where you are

Replacing lower wishbone ball joints on a mk3
RichE posted a topic in Suspension, Steering, & Brakes
Hi all. New to the site, but have had my Cortina since 1992 and am after some advice please. Having successfully removed the old ball joints (upper and lower) with the use of a grinder & 'gentle' persuasion ;-) my new top joints have bolted straight on, but with the lowers (Borg & Beck BBJ5025) the tie bar holes just don't line up...has anyone else had this problem? or have I got the wrong part? My car is a 1972 1600 ohv XL (p/fl) Subframe sticker - yes, it's still on there! is 71BB-5000DA and under that it says 1548679. Weirdly, I've got round tiebar Bush holes as per a facelift yet rest of subframe (ie horns) are p/fl. Any answers/thoughts will be gratefully received. Will try & upload photos (once I work out how to)
