Hi Thanks for that  . i would prefer to stay original if i could but its not priority and don't mind mixing and matching parts from other cars/vans. the mk6 transit one will definitely be something i will consider when choosing the servo. apart from having to change how it connects to the pedal it seems to be quite straight forward. i don't see why he had to change the reservoir tho? a little bit off topic now. i was thinking of writing some master cylinder information here that i managed to acquire while searching. maybe it is of some help to someone. Basically before finding the new master cylinder i was considering using the land rover 25.4mm master cylinder (Part Number NRC8690) along with all their problems. But while searching i found out that there is a 23.8mm one (Part Number NRC9529) this is the same as the 25.4mm one and the same bore as the granada master cylinder (23.8mm) in case someone is looking to use one of those. i haven't got around to trying this so i cant confirm that the information above is 100% correct. But maybe if someone is in a jam they can consider using this master cylinder instead. if anyone does let me know if it works please. thanks.

thanks for the replies guys. i contacted power track and J&L spares. J&L said it will cost £175 + vat and carriage to refurb the unit for me and they wont supply a kit. Power track said that they dont supply a refurb kit, or the diaphragm alone since that is the rarest part and i think they want to keep it for a full refurb instead of supplying. not too good for me  contacted someone locally who said that they can see if another servo will bolt on from another car. i guess ill have to take my servo and go and see. maybe something else can bolt on instead. any suggestions more than welcome please. pitty if i go for a servo off a different car. yesterday i managed to find a new old stock master cylinder off a mk3 with reservoir and all. and i also managed to find a new valve. was very happy about that (considering they are both really difficult to find) but not too happy if i dont get to use them. lol. we will see. in the meanwhile im still on the look out for a replacement diaphragm. Thanks again :)

Hi guys. so tested out the servo last night. dam thing isn't holding vacuum  . There is a leak somewhere inside and i suspect its from the diaphragm. anyone know where i can get a replacement please? been looking around and can only find people who offered to refurbish it for me at 100 Sterling +. im not looking to spend that much. Therefore im looking into replacing the diaphragm myself. any help in locating a replacement diaphragm would be greatly appreciated. alternatively i would be willing to buy another girling servo off a cortina mk3/4/5. But must be in good working order if anyone has a spare one running about. thanks a lot :)

Hi Thanks for the reply. managed to take that thing off. you were right. it just comes out :)  wasn't expecting to have to make a jig tho  ill see how i go without opening it. in case i need to open it. can you still get the internal rubber piece that seals the diaphragm with the casing? if yes. anyone knows from where? thanks again :)

Hi guys i just bought a mk3 girling servo to replace my bendix system and would like to refurbish it. my question is. is there any way of replacing the rubber seal that is on the servo that sits behind the master cylinder? i have a large gap (apx 1mm) between the rod and the seal and cant imagine that this will be able to hold vacuum. especially since when i press the servo rod that connects to the pedal a lot of air can pass through this gap. i know there is a kit on ebay which looks like it has this part http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574629005&toolid=10001&campid=5335900709&customid=&mpre=http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-Cortina-Mk3-Mk5-Fiesta-XR2-P100-BRAKE-SERVO-REPAIR-SEALS-KIT-/141678899636?hash=item20fcb871b4:m:mYJQfMN0ZfjWE-wmxUvY7Tg But i cant think of a way of removing this rubber piece. any help on how to replace this part would be greatly appreciated. Pics below :) Thanks :)

Hi guys I'm using one of those in-line plastic valve things. Worked well last time I used it but I think the valve may have seen better days. I'll get someone to give me a hand and use the 2person method this weekend. Thanks.

hi guys. id like a little advice, im pretty sure everything is ok, but im not too sure. basically when i release the pedal no fluid flows back into the caliper, and when i press the pedal again there is loads of air. i tried gravity bleeding them. some air comes out and then the air stops and i have only fluid. then when i press the pedal after gravity bleeding there is no air, then release, and press again there is loads of air. could it be when i release the pedal there air being sucked in from the bleed nipple threads, hence when i gravity bleed them there is no air? the pedal feels fine, but i just want to confirm that this is something normal and not a problem. Thanks.
