  1. Does anyone know of a reputable company down south Hampshire way that can install a Quaife lsd and new crown and pinion? Also any ideas of the fitting cost? thanks
  2. That seems better, what size tyres do you have? Is first gear pulling away ok?
  3. So I’ve been searching to get a definitive answer for this. Can you guys tell me what diff ratio’s you have and what speed you can comfortably sit at what rpm. Ive got standard diff 3.9 and I’m getting 65mph at about 3800rpm. I would like the get my cruising speed up a bit so if anyone has a 3.77 or 4.44 could tell me what your getting?
  4. Ok solved this myself, if anyone else has issues like this, this is what you do. The black wire to the switch is earth. Should be plugged into that connector in the second pic. The white wire coming from the fan motor should be connected to a feed that goes to the ignition switch that also goes to wiper motor (2x green wires) That’s your switched live so it turns the fan off when the ignitions off. I ran a 10a fuse to the fan in the end just to be safe. 👍
  5. Hello, I currently sorting out the wiring on my mk1 gt. trying to follow the wiring diagram to find where the live feed to my heater fan switch should go. My car is still positive earth. The black wire that goes to my switch is I currently going to earth. Where should it go or what’s a safe feed from the ignition switch to get a feed from? Was also going to wire in a fuse to it 7.5a should do?
  6. Thanks really helpful with the photos. Has anyone tired a new smiths oil pressure sender and dial? Will it work on our cars I think the sender thread is correct. Can’t upload the pic of the sender but looks similar to standard.
  7. Great help! Got the lights working in the gauges now, was just the spade terminal came off the switch under the dash. Im struggling to find a positive earth Rev counter at the moment so might persist with the electronic one I have that’s run off the coil - feed. They’ve put the relay in so it can turn off with the ignition on its positive feed. Is there any reason I can’t remove the relay, then wire the positive from the tacho to body (+ feed) and use the ignition switch negative live switched feeds on the tachos negative feed to turn it on and off instead? If that makes sense!
  8. Ok great thanks for the replies. I’ve joined your Facebook page too. I’ve found a company that do vintage stereos and do a positive earth adapter for it so I might keep it like that to as it’s running well as it is. Just need to find out what wiring has been done and check for a voltage stabiliser. I’m guessing there is no aftermarket oil pressure sender that works? Or can a different one with new dial be installed in the original place?
  9. Hello everyone! First post, of probably many 😁 I have just got a 1966 cortina GT goes well but my dials are not all working or correctly. The car is currently wired positive earth. Has original generator and points. I have a working speedo and tacho. Even though it’s says negative earth on it? My ammeter is working but my fuel, oil and temp gauge needles just roll on to max when I put the ignition on. For some reason the tacho lights up when the ignition is turned on but non of the other dials light up even when the switch under the dash is on. How do remove the clock binnacle so I can get behind the speedo, the tacho came out and it’s a smith electronic aftermarket one that they have wired a relay on for some reason! Any help with how to deal with this would be a great help. I would like to have it negative earth so I can install a radio too. Thanks
