  1. Thanks Craig. What type of sealant is it?
  2. Hi all Hope you're all enjoying the good weather and getting your Cortinas outside! Bit of a dumb question, how are the wings joined to the valance? Is it just some kind of sealant? Am asking because the join between the valance and the wings is a bit scrappy on my mk 4 and I want to tidy it up a bit. Cheers Jim
  3. Many thanks 😊
  4. Hi all I've just done a heatbox refurb on my mk4, so hopefully will get some heat in the cabin, not that I need it right with this lovely weather . I have some new replacement foam gaskets for the underneath of the box, but do they also need any kind of paste sealant, or do the gaskets fit dry? Also, does the back need any kind of seal, foam or paste sealant? Looks like door draught excluder foam tape would probably do it, but I'm curious as to what is recommended? Cheers Jim
  5. Thanks for the suggestions. So it sounds like a finger sander might be easier to handle for smaller areas?
  6. Thanks for the advice! I'll have to check out middle o' lidl!
  7. Thank you Craig & Dr Bunsen! One more question (I'm sounding like Columbo!). What type of grinder & disks will I need?
  8. Yep, the car was white with a brown roof but was resprayed jupiter red & the roof painted black.
  9. Thanks for the advice! From the pictures, do you think the scuttle corner is too far gone? Also, regarding lifting the rubber with electrical cord, is that to take the windscreen out completely?
  10. Hi all Although my Mk 4 is very solid with no serious rust, there are bubbles here and there. I'm a complete noob with this sort of thing (though I recall repairing the door on my Opel Manta in the 90s and msking a pigs ear of it), so could anyone give me an overview of how I should tackle it? I'm not really sure where to begin!

    Mk 4 seats

Are the headrests you have the ones supported by a single flat rod? If do that'd be great! There's no visible slots on the front seat tops but the seats were retrimmed by the previous owner, who gave me this: So I'm assuming (gambling?) that the seats have the necessary mechanism inside to receive the post.
  12. Hi all Does anyone know if mk 1 granada front seats fit a mk 4? Although the front seats in my mk 4 are in good condition, they lack headrests (well, the drivers seat has a fiesta headrest crudely welded on it ) I've seen a set of granada front seats for sale with the headrests that look like the correct type for a mark 4 - rectangular cushion on a single flat post. Cheers
  13. 8x5, that's an unusual size. Anyway, thanks for looking Jim
  14. Hi everyone Does anyone know what size the dash speaker is on a mk 4? I read on an old topic here that it's 6x4 on a mk 3, guessing it's probably the same but does anyone know for sure? I'd like to fit a better speaker as I've just finishing a job to gut the old (and useless) p21 radio, and fit a bluetooth receiver & amp. Basically this thing: I Cheers Jim
  15. BTW I think the rear of the car looks a little bit jacked up. Is that normal?
