Hi, I really liked what you did about 5 years age with the dash dual voice speaker, and I would like to do the same. Did you use the original metal plate, but cut down? Could it be done without the metal plate? The new speaker, is it a 5x7? How thick was the MDF? I'm guessing at 3mm. If you was to do it again, what would you do different? Thank you.

No MDF used. I just opened up the hole in the plate and screwed the speaker to it, then reinstalled. I remember is being seriously fiddly. Have to remove the whole glovebox, and then the left demister vent.
Note, the bass was almost non-existent, but if you don't want to cut your door cards, then running this speaker along with an under-seat subwoofer may be a good option.
