malbrook started following MK2 1600E Temp Gauge, Starter Motor Bush Replacement, Mk2 Cortina 1600E Front Seat Base Trim and and 6 others
-
Hi, I am changing the bushes on my MK2 starter motor M35J and whilst taking the end plate off (as per picture) one of the tiny hex bolts sheared so I need a replacement. Does anyone know the correct thread size for these tiny bolts? Thanks
-
Hi, Thanks & yes after various attempts at trying to to sort the interface out I found the gauge matcher and purchased one recently, so will be installing it when the weather warms up, hopefully this will sort the issue out, fingers crossed!

Hi, Wanted: I am after the plastic trim that fits to the seat base of a Mk2 Cortina 1600E front drivers seat, as per attached photo. Thanks

Thanks for you response, very useful information. The reason I am asking the question is that I have fitted a new MK 1 fuel tank & new MK 1 sender in my MK 2 and now wish I had checked the resistance of the new sender before fitting! I have approx half a tank of fuel but my gauge reads just off empty, so now I know what the range of values should be from the sender then I need to check the current resistance value and compare against these. Thanks again.

Hi, I am having issues with matching a replacement fuel tank sender with the fuel gauge on my Mk 2 and therefore can anyone advise me on the resistance values for both empty & full on both a Mk 1 sender and Mk 2 sender. My assumption was that there was no difference but now I have an issue I am wondering if they are different. Thanks

Checked with John at the club and Mk2 repro fuel tanks are not available. ☹️
-
The fuel tank on my MK2 Series 1 is beyond repair so I am thinking of replacing with a new MK1 tank that is available from a supplier online. I appreciate that the MK1 tank has a smaller capacity than the MK2 but was wondering if anyone on here had also followed this route and if so what are their experiences? Thanks

I would be interested in the MK1 Escort manual, depending on the price of course!

Hi, I have just upgraded to a full S.S. exhaust system and therefore have my old system for sale, see attached pictures. As you can see from the pictures the system is in fairly good condition and therefore I am looking for £85. I am based in Lincoln. Regards Mal

I will swap a black one for a grey one!

Hi, I have found various threads on here talking about voltages for the Fuel & Temp gauges on a MK2 and I am confused about what the actual votage should be as both 5V and 10V have been mentioned, via the voltage stabilzer located on the back of the speedo. Therefore can someone confirm what the actual voltage should be which is used for these two gauges. Cheers
-
Thanks John, How much do you want for Gauge & sender including P&P? Cheers Mal
-
might be your sender on cylinder head, worth try only few quid, :angel_not: Yes, I just assumed it was the Temp Gauge as it was working fine. Is there anyway to check if it is the sender or gauge? Cheers
-
Hi, Was out in the MK2 1600E Series 1 today and it looks like my Temp gauge has packed up, therefore anybody got a spare Temp Gauge in good working condition that would like to sell? Thanks

Hi, Yes I did see this one on ebay but it states it is for a MK1 Cortina and my understanding is that the MK2 hole in the bellhousing where the rubber gaitor fits is bigger than the hole on the MK1 bellhousing. Of course this information may be incorrect, maybe someone can confirm? Cheers
