did the passenger footwell earlier in the year and knew the drivers was bad but not as bad as it is.going to have to rebuild floor,replace "a" pillar panel and the inner wing rail area is so rusty and pitted that's going to be replaced and the slampanel corner the hinge panel is rot,the end of the bulkhead panel has rotand i can see rot at the base of the scuttle

hopefully someone can answer this for me.i've started to remove the 2 "a" pillar panel and will be removing the inner wing panel too upto the headlight.the replacement inner wing panel only goes to the bulkhead joint but on the car there seems to be a panel behind the top 1 inch or so of the pillar panel is that just part of the inner wing?it's hard to tell as there is so much rust and metal missing. in the first pic the light grey on the top left abbove the left hand thick cable is the old pillar panel and to the right of it where i have removed a bit of the panel is a very rusty bit

in the process of making up the floor and inner sill and getting them to fit.desperately trying to track down a length of good outer sill -
not sorted yet so has anyone got either a new or decent rear bit of the outer sill from the b pillar to the wheel arch please

cheers craig.money is tight like me so will make an inner and outer repair bit as wouldn't need whole sills although i see what ya mean by neater.yeah i was thinking the floor to wheel arch is gonna be a pain.oh wellonwards and upwards,

i'll try and add pics but they might be too big.basically from half way between the wheelarch and b pillar there is a lot of rot and i need to know how much i can cut out before the structural integrity is compromised?(some big words being used there lol) the outer sill by the wheel arch is rotten,the bottom part of the wheel arch is rotten,the inner sill is rotten and part of the floor to just under the crossmember for the seat is rotten.i don't want the car to start to sag if i cut too much

hopefully someone can answer this right.i just found the floor at the rear o/s is rotten and would like to attack it from inside the car.with the seat removed there is a reinforcing plate that goes from the front of the rear seat(where it's secured in place) and to the inner sill area.can i remove this plate without the fear of any twisting of the car?

took the mk5 off the road this week so thought i'd have a poke around.can't load pics of the o/s inner wing as it says they are too big but looks like i'm going to need a pillar repair panel,the inner wing mounting panel and the front corner panel as alot is solid but it's so rusted and pitted it looks worse than the wife's ass. had a small hole on top of the outer cill by the rear door and no longer a small hole.the whole area is foil tape and filler including behind the outer cill and the floor under the seat -

would anyone have a rear section of outer cill they maybe don't need.i only need it from the end to just by the b pillar as i've been the victim of a bodge repair involving foil tape and filler there.

cheers for that.i'll have a look on there but the rest is so pitted and rusty it's yuk.will stick a couple of pics up later

just answered my own question and found them on motomobil but with needing the inner wing panel and the front edge by headlight that's €140!!

it's probably been asked a thousand times but it the a pillar repair panel available?the actual pillar is just about good but it's rotting from the pillar to the wheel arch at the bottom,where the bonnet catch attaches and at the top.

car broke down last night and turned out it was the starter motor was stuck in the ring gear anyone knows what causes this?

not a major problem but more an inconvenience this one.all the time the auto choke is on( 1.6) the car runs ok but when the choke comes off when you go to accelerate it wants to stall but if you over rev it it's fine.any ideas?

from memory at least 1 has metal clips.i did replace one with elastic rings and that slipped within days.

have thought that but it's finding someone to do it.yeah the pipe is good as it kept comingoff so trimmed and held on with a clip the wife went out this morning and said it ran fine and no stalling.i give up with the car it's just so unpredictable
