I’m all out of ideas now.

Just to let everyone that replied know I’ve failed to undo it. I wedged a 2mm metal bar under one of the pulley bolts and jacked it up then hit the s..t out of it with a hammer and a sledge hammmer with no success. Tried using a screwdriver and no joy.

Cheers Delano.it’s never easy to let them go but she isn’t getting used. if she don’t sell then I’ll sort her after the camper and cargo.
-
Finally and definately decided to sell the ol’girl. I’ve had her now for 16 year but haven’t driven her for the 3 and don’t see myself using her in the next 5 or more so maybe someone else can look after her. I have a couple of other projects but the way diesel is going I doubt I’ll be using the cargo either.

Gotta get the bloody thing off first lol tried wedging a metal plate under a bolt but no joy there either. I think I’ll try taking the fan off and see if it gives just enough clearance
-
Cheers for that. For one I’m on my own just to make life fun.knowing my luck something will bend. I’m gonna try and wedge something under the belt pulley nuts and the ground to stop it turning but so hard when ya have no mojo

:) I can swear too. Tomorrow’s gonna be a day of swearing and ignorance lol

I have lots of ignorance lol

I need to remove my fan as I need to get a straight angle on the broken thermostat bolt. I found a spanner I made years ago which must have been for a similar job but the pulley moves when I hit the spanner. If I stop the alternator the pulley still moves so how do I loosen it please :)
-
What spanner/socket do people use to get the lower bolt. I’ve used 13mm sockets either to short and no room for the wrench or to long and no room for the wrench. Also tried 13mm spanner open ended and ring but still no joy
-
I’ll check the thermostat tomorrow

Started the ol girl up today after 6 months and got her running but after a few minutes steam was coming out the expansion tank followed by the sound of boiling water.could it be a faulty thermostat

Who was selling a brown chatsworth interior
bugsntinas replied to bugsntinas's topic in Ford Cortina Discussion
I know i saw someone selling not so long ago as i was after the rear seat but his was ripped where mine is. Maybe i should just try and find the brown material at the rear of the rear seat base -
Can't remember who or when
-
I know but the cost of the insurance will go a long way on the camper. One day she'll roll
-
I did the floors, boot n/s inner wing so she's solid but could do with a proper jobbie. If i didn't have my van and truck to do she'd get done
-
Probably longer she has an uncertain future at the moment. Can't make a decision what to do as I've had her for over 15 years
-
Well moved the ol girl into her forever home as she was in the way. All covered up now :(
-
L know what ya mean but i can't afford the insurance to only use it occasionally. We'll see.
-
Mine better have patients :)

Well the tina is back in the garage for another year. Was gonna use her as the second car but not needed now. Not sure what the future holds for her as next year i need to get my campervan built and then i have a ford cargo horsebox to sort. I've had her for 15 years now so not an easy decision to make :(

I'll have a poke around and see whats what. I'll swap over the stalk to

Well the hazards were working then the stopped, flashed once then stopped altogether. The indicators work fine. Tried a spare switch nothing, bought a zwitch from craig, thanks by tbe way, but tbey still don't work. I assume 3 switches all can't be fault so what else should i check oh and there is poeer to the switch as tested that

Hadn't heard of them before but i got one of craig.
