before i put the speedo back in i gave it a twist with pliers to make sure it was engaged in the box and when i let go it spun back and made sure it was pushed right in a back of cluster. wipers are the one thing that have kept on working. and the hazards worked yesterday but stopped today aggghhhhhh. -
silly statement but i take it they work :).how much to post to ireland

she's been off the road since summer 2019 with the intention of restoring her but the work was gonna be more than i could afford so it became a patch up job but still getting rid of the major rust .i was hoping to have her on the road to take my boy to school this week but she's chucked up one problem afte the other with electrics and silly little leaks.as she stands i thought i'd got the speedo working but no she has other ideas, fuel gauge don't work now, reversing lights have stopped and after taking her up the lane ididn't even enjoy driving her so i think after 15 years i'm gonna get rid.ya know when you just lose all interest in something well she's worn me down to that point.

Think i might have found a solution. I found things called bed sheet clips that i think will work

Few and far between over here. The trouble is the material has literally rot right where it folds over the frame
-
Not sure where to put this so i thought it could be a discussion :) My mk5 rear seat base has split right across the rear where it fixes to the frame now i was gonna take the cover off and see if a local taylor could saw on lengths of elastic hoops so i could hook it back but i found the seat cover is sawn to the padding etc underneath. What could be my options for fixing it. I could make holes in the seem and use cable ties but i really need something elasticated as tbe cover will need to stretch if anyone sits on it.

Cheers for that. I'll whip the wheel and drum off at some point and check

I can't see how to delete this post but i found what I need

Hi all Was moving the car yesterday from the garage and she's chucked up a couple of issues which I'm sure the knowledgeable ones will know the cause:). She ticks over ok but when i touch the accelerator she wants to stall. Secondly when reversing she's good for about 10ft then the rear pass wheel locks so i stopped and then moved back again until it locked again after 10ft and she kept on doing it. Tia

Has anyone get a pair of the front corner bumper brackets that bolt onto the front wings for sale. I only thought i needed one as i cut it in have but as i seem to have lost the entire front bumper with brackets and corners i think I'd better get both lol

I know it's a long way off but i guess at some point with all this electric this and electric that do you worry what the future holds for you babies. I have my cortina and a 90 ford cargo and a little newer mk2 iveco daily and i often wonder if at some point they end up on the scrap heap.

Glad they are reusable. Cheers for ya help

After asking a few times with no joy in finding a brown chatsworth seat I'm going to have to try and get mine repaired. How easy is it to undo the metal clips that hold the fabric on and if anyone has replaced theirs did you reuse them or did you use something else like cable ties etc.

I'd say the battery was .ged. I got it off a mk2 transit about 11 years ago. Charged another battery and no joy at first so charged a bit more and after a lot of turning she popped into life. A slow put put first getting faster then roared into life not bad considering she's been standing for nearly a year untouched.
-
Had it on charge and it went up to 4 bars(max) turned it off for an hour then put it back on and went to 1 bar. Left it for a while but it's been fizzing like crazy so turned it off again but the fizzing has been going on for at least an hour since so maybe it's knackered :(
-
Not a major problem yet but a bit puzzling. Charged my battery up, not fully, and stuck it on the mk5 to just get her starting but the starter clicked and turned very slowly and that was it. Now I've always had it that if the battery isn't charged enough then the starter just clicked. Is this just a case of charging the battery more or possibly something more serious

I made a new tube from steel will have to go to the local tyre shop and see if they have an old tube

Looking for suggestions. I replaced the neck on the boot floor and thought i had the angle and height right but I'm a little out so the rubber boot no longer fits. Any idea what i could use as a replacement. Tia.

Ah ok. Makes it easier to remove later down the line

Slight change but with the rear outter rear valance does it have a flange on each end that welds to the wing as mine doesn't and i can see a gap so wondering if it's just had a bad plate put over the original Jesus that ain't cheap but yeah that's it. I think i migjt cut the one out of the scrap car and see what it is like.
