  1. Jesus that ain't cheap but yeah that's it. I think i migjt cut the one out of the scrap car and see what it is like.
  2. Is it possible to buy the rear section of the chassis for a saloon or are they get like hens teeth. Couldn't see them on motomobil.
  3. What is the best steel to use on the old cars hot or cold rolled steel
  4. What car did ya get it from. The recyclers charge a fortune for bits over here
  5. It would be the driver side. Yeah I'd say shipping would be a lot and now we have to pay tax etc on top. No hurry as I'm still a lazy sod
  6. I was looking on motomobil and they are serious money
  7. A b c d e f lol. I bought and fitted the wing rail last year but wasn't happy with it. The worst part really on my inner wing is all around the area near the front corner, headlight bowl etc. It is very scabby and wasn't happy with the result and the more i think of it the more it bugs me
  8. Is it possible to make an inner front from a sheet of steel. If poss would it be better to make it in one piece or several
  9. Needs a very good clean. Has a couple of tears one by the fuel filler area and a couple of small ones in the crease where the panel goes up from the floor at the rear. £15
  10. Who was it that was getting the new panels in from turkey
  11. Cheers guys. Guess I'll reposition the car and drop the tank not literally of course
  12. I need to weld in a new piece of boot floor and filler neck tube but wondering do I have to remove the tank. I know the heat generated is very hot but is it likely to get to the tank. At the moment there is about a gallon of fuel in there. I guess I'm looking for the lazy route as I'm finding it difficult to keep working on the ol girl
  13. Cheers Steve. Just confirms it's not straight forward. Will definitely leave it until next time as some of the chassis there needs work too
  14. Yeah I guess plate for now. I have a campervan conversion up next and I'm planing on using that for a few years and then prob sell her and put some money into proper panels for the tina
  15. Done one small. This isn't a full blown resto as I'll prob do her again in a few years time. Not sure how to do the next bit as it goes underneath the light holder and out to the corner. Think I might just plate this bit as I think it's gonna be worse than it looks
  16. Already sorted that bit as I made one in 2018 but started elsewhere lol
  17. I don't think the chassis is bad but will tell when the rot is out. Would you believe I don't have any oil :( Yeah pointless just plating I want it to be solid enough.
  18. With the car turned round it's time to see the damage at the rear. Could have been a lot worse but damn is it killing my back. One piece of advice I'm after. On the pass side you can see it is rusted above the chassis rail would you just cut the rust out or would you cut a bigger area for strength.
  19. Cheers but I didn't do alot lol just some petrol and a charged battery. Just need the weather to warm up a bit then I'll get out to her again
  20. Yeah she's up and running so turned her around to work on the rear end
  21. It's amazing how stupid we can be at times. I hadn't connected the connectors the wrong way round I just hadn't connected them DOH!!!! She turns over but I need some petrol now.
