Due to a recent event I've realised it's time to follow dreams as I'm not getting any younger so its sadly time to let the old girl go. Facts are... 1979 2.0 ghia, full brown chatsworth, 4 branch to a made up Janspeed. Paint in JCB yellow synthetic paint with Matt black bonnet. Many new parts fitted during the build 3years/2000 miles ago including ball joints, track rod ends, front pads rear shoes and wheel cylinders, all new brake pipes including braided flexies. Interior Seats are good but to be honest the rest needs a tidy up, door cappings are in poor nick, no headlining fitting but 2nd hand one comes with car. Wheels Again need a refurb but good tyres. Set of laser 4 spokes in Anthracite with unused brand new tyres available at extra cost. Engine 2.0 headgasket has gone but still runs. 4 speed box spot on. Car is in Newcastle upon Tyne Looking for £2000 not including 4 spokes. Mot until May 2020 Currently SORN *** edit.... please note the boot spoiler will not be fitted as it belongs to Bob Digidy ***

Just 3 months after picking up my mk5 as basically a sort of rolling shell today I got to drive her legally on the rd. Full respray, interior fitted, new brakes all round including pipes and flexis, and rebuilt calipers, wheel cylinders, new top and bottom ball joints, new track rod ends, plus loads of other stuff I mentioned in my " budget build " thread. Drove her the 75 miles back from Duncs and she never missed a beat, over the big hills of the borders even the temp gauge sat solid at between a 1/4 and a 1/2. So thats it a project I kind of expected to take at least a year has been done in short order bar cleaning and some bits like audio fitting, shes now all tucked away in her new home.

Dunc and Lol are running round in it for a few weeks to iron out any teething problems that arise then I'll be going up to collect her between xmas and new year then I'll be doing some finishing off, refurbing the wheels fitting a stereo, some spots and some decals, I CAN'T WAIT to get my hands on her!!!!

I am led to believe it came from somewhere on the south coast yes mate.
-
The sneaky dude put it in for test this morning without telling me. Result.... not even an advisory!!!! So that's it, almost total rebuild in less than 3 months, and she's on the rd, taxed insured and most important, mot'd!!!! The man is a damned star!!!
-
Once it's all done I'm going to run a completion to see who can get closest to the total build cost. The answer will prove the moaners very wrong Dave. And yes this year has been a complete turn around for me, health, home and job wise. Long may it continue lol

Can't the credit all down to Dunc.
-
On the ground, just fettling for the Mot now, going to refurb the wheels when I get her home.
-
She's alive!!!!
