thanks mate, when i first got the car 4 years ago i was adamant i was going with lotus steels all along! but on the 11 hour i bought D1,s :thumbup: so pleased i did now!

thanks mate, but compared with your restoration mine was just a freshen up :icecream: your restoration to me has been a big eye-opener on what can be achieved with fabrication and repairs, you must have saved a fortune on panels Every time i look on (express steel panels) web site the price,s have gone up. it,s just getting stupid now! what you are showing to us enthusiasts is how it can be done :thumbup:

You should have a earth cable at the back of the engine connection is made through gearbox bolt and is connected to body. Try using a jump lead from battery earth to car body and see if that helps

Hi Fred, it is fixed to radiator support panel. Bolt size is 1/4 unf

Hi lingy if your on a budget don't bother looking at gt models. They fetch top money. Even a basket case does,mk1 2 door gt are rear now Best of luck with your search Mark

5/16 unf. I'm not 100% on the lengh but I think they are 1 inch -
Tall one is a lotus one. I think the lotus core is approximately 35cm high

eHi mate the small plate which was painted is not needed legally, no one has managed to de-code this plate, asyet. I believe G.O had. A good try 2/3 years ago but couldn't de-code it . Cheers. Mark

Hi, with your ignition switch on check with a volt meter to see if your getting 12volt feed. at the coil If you get 9volt read you have a ballast wire fitted.

To me it sounds like fuel blockage, so check your fuel filters & carb for any blockage. Also modern fuel goes of quicker, if sat around for long periods of time -
