  3. I used namrick for all my Nuts & bolts,next day delivery, www.namrick.co.uk, for the suspension use high tensile bolts, on my mk2 my steering box,idle arm,tca,& bumper bolts was 3/8 unf just measure what lengh you want, i would have thought mk1 is the same as mk2
  4. I wouldn't bother with Ploughlane Coachworks in Sutton, they are only interested in insurance work.use someone who do restorations

  13. it will be easier to change flange on your prop as the diff has a pre-load setting and you will have to put new crush washer in and set pre-load. and if you get it wrong you will f##k it

  15. an hour and half to fit an axle - not that bad , try doing that on a modern car :ninja: ok Dave I take your point! but only had to fit shackle's bolts & leaf spring bolts and there was 3 off us :playball: it was paint thickness underneath & bush's a bit to wide

  17. yes it was me. I picked car up from Simons today. I built up the axle & took it down to Simons thinking it a be 20min job to fit it. 1hour&30min later and lots of swearing it was done

  19. seen this before is it the paint code ??? but never seen two square holes in the parcel shelf before though... Could be paint code, as for the 2 holes they look factory cut, not sure they had speakers that big in 1967 i have an early shell with the same two holes. is your shell a gt
  20. Hi MLI I used masterguard stonechip high build,I used about 10 canisters.also MLI my gearbox has been fixed now they have machined the input shaft. it had previously been rebuilt with a single-rail input shaft not a three rail-input shaft and that was the discrepancy
  21. yes i was very impressed with por-15. it is very addictive and you can't stop painting with it,I used por-15 chassis black on some suspension parts and had good results. I will be picking the car up in 2 weeks time, then the build begins. will be looking forward to driving the bloody thing :cheers:
