    SKN550X

Hello all, just wondering if anybody on here owns my old mk5 gold 2.0GL 4 door saloon registration number SKN550X. I sold it early 2009 and last week spoke to the chap i sold it to who said he did lots of welding etc and had it on the road before selling it via eBay to chap in Manchester who purchased it for his dad. It's not currently MOTD or taxed and is not sorn because DVLA say it is sat at trade status. It could be scrapped or someone's project. Would love to know what's happening with it, I have some great pictures of the car the current owner would maybe like to see. Cheers
  2. Hello all just wondering if my old mk5 gold cortina 2.0GL saloon still exists reg number skn550x? I sold it a couple of years back after using it as my daily driver for a few years, other projects and baby on the way made the decision to sell. It wanted work but would have made a cracking car, sold it to a sound chap from milton keynes way called john who seemed to have plans to renovate it. Not really in a position to buy it back but would love to know if its being restored and see some pics of it. cheers
  3. Sold to a sound chap who is collecting this week.
  4. Still for sale, £499, any questions please ask

  9. Hello everyone, just wanted to see if there is anybody on here who may be interested in buying my cortina. Its a 1982 4 door mk5 saloon in venus gold. I have owned it since late 2006, it had 2 previous keepers, the last since 1984 when car was exactley 2 years old. I ran it as my daily car for quite a while and had no problems, it hasnt been used on the road for a year or so now and is on sorn. Its mot ran out and due to house moves and baby on the way I just dont have the time to give to it which it deserves so I am reluctently looking to move it on. It must go to a good home, thats why I have come here first. Car has quite a bit of service history, and is in good condition for its age but is not mint, it does have blemises of rust here and there but is in presentable condition. It would benefit from having rear valance and arches etc fitted at some point ( i will include new rear valance panel, new rear arches and quarter panel bottoms in sale) It has had welding here and there, all I can say is come and have a look for yourself and see what you think. I am looking for offers around the £700 area I think its worth this. If there is not any interest I will look at putting mot on it and take it from there. Vehicle is located in burton on trent, you can email me on singleton06@hotmail.co.uk Had it running other day, still sound good, and gave it quick wash and took picture below, as you can it is quite presentable but remember this is a 27 year old car. Its done about 123000 miles,
  10. The loop on the ratchet was broken, Im parts manager at my local renault dealer so i rang the local ford garage to see if part was still available. They had to get the old microfishe out so i bet i was popular! Anyway they had the part in stock and it cost me about 8quid ncluding the washers etc so pretty happy about that. Going to have a go at fitting it in the week, anybody done one? looks more of a fiddley job than anyhing else, might take drivers seat out and radio console to get good access to it. Cheers for yor help bortaf! Is there a list on the forum anywhere where we can add part numbers? There is one somewhere  just stick it here one of us will copy it for future referance :clown: The seat out helps if it your first time or if you can get it on a ramp and stand next to it looking up intthe under dash area. You need to get the cable out the end of the ratchet, pull the clip from the end of the peddle box shaft slide and it off, TBH having the main spring off is a pluss cos it won't spring appart before you get a chance to see how it all fits together  Personly i leave the big spring off the peddle (but on the ratchet) till it's all back together them using some stronge wire pull it down and forward through the peddle, saves everything springing appart as you slide it back on the shaft  Got it all apart ok and the new ratchet appears to be the wrong one!, i dont think its a modified part because the teeth are on the opposite side, hopefully get correct one in couple of days.

  12. And is it the front of the pedal where you put your foot where the spring locates and to the part of the ratchet essembly nearest to your foot when on the pedal (not behind the pedal in the hollow section) sorry to be a pain just want to be sure. If the part has broke off the ratchet are the pedals the same as any later fords? cheers
  13. Yes spring is intact both ends, so it fits to an eye on the ratchet itself, i take it the other end just fits into the cut out hole on the pedal?
  14. Goodevening all, the other day a spring fell into the drivers footwell in my 1982 2.0GL, everything appeared to be working so i didnt worry too much. At first i thought it might be the bonnet pull, so tonight i took the carpet trim out to have a look, and i just happened to pull the clutch pedal towards me by accident and the self adjustment mechanism allowed the pedal to go to the floor, i re adjust the mechanism and the pedal returns to normal. There is no spring on the clutch pedal, is it the mystery spring that fell out? and if it is where does the other end attach to? any advice would be great
  15. no problem, cheers for your help
