I guess OCD (Obsessive Cortina Dissorder) starts early in some. I caught it at 18 years old. First hour at work and a ride in a mk5 and it was all over. :winner:

I know this dealer. He specialises in old Fords. I remember looking round that mk4 Ghia last summer. He also had (from memory) an Escort mk2 van in great nick a mk2 Capri in gold which needed work and a couple of Cortina's. He puts them in his showroom. Like a blast from the past.

Ive got mine laid up for the winter in a garage. I'm not sure it does them any favours. Sure its good to be out of the weather but starting her takes four or five attempts. Once running she's happy. TBH next year I don't think I'll garage her.

I've just managed to watch it on the TG website - if that Marina was a wrecker, how on earth did it stand up to all those bumps? And not one lump of filler fell out either? Nah, that looked like a good solid example of a Marina to me. Not a Marina fan by any means, but it does seem a waste...... Oh, and that E looked great, shame we didn't get to see more of it I've got no idea how a wreck survived those bumps but page 5 of the thread (on the Marina site) has a bloke explaining what they did. I'm highly sceptical myself as are the Marina club because another page (no 6) is devoted to the programme. Lets be honest because its a Marina it could be consideredto be funny. Don't think I'd have the same sense of humour if it was a Cortina though. Have to agree about the E :winner:

Have read the five page thread on the Marina site. They had a bit of a go (understandably) at BBC and Top Gear only to be told that the Marina that was smashed up and burned was a clone car that was so far gone they (BBC) got it off a banger racer who couldn't find any structural rigidity. If this is right then the BBC did a great job of making the wrecker look like the good car.

In the words of Magnus Magnusson Trusty. "I've started so I'll finish". Its your car/s, its your money and its your time, but if it was me and it was in 2007 I'd keep going with your rebuild. Human nature (not specifically yours) would be to not go near your rebuild again as you'd never find the enthusiasm. I went through this period and I know that Martin (TMRancho) went through it too. Suddenly things start to come together quickly and then the car is finished. You can look at it then with the knowledge that "I did that". See it through bud.
