i cut my notch out and tested it today. alls good so will cut more out tonight if i get time.
-
regards to cutting the front apron. that is just temperary. it will be fixed when it finished. i'll need to run a new lower section to cleat the front of the hilux chassis and that will look good. already have one in mind. when i bought it it looked like this.
-
well i was talking to my grinder and he wasnt happy with the amount that was cut out yesterday.. so back to work today.. Good thing.. the hilux chassis is now hidden when ya look parallel with the corty chassis == fkn beauty coz thats what my aim was. Also i can raise the suspension slightly and the cab still sits damn low Bad thing. now the wheels scrape on the inside guard..so i'll have to tub the front for clearance also i dropped a bench seat in it to see how much room i had to move in there.. and suprisingly.. i have loads.

yeh im pretty happy with it so far  had a quick fiddle with lowering it more today. seamed to work.. heres some pix.

i finished hanging stuff up in the shed so i had more room on the floor. so after that i got motivated to work on on the ute.. so spent about 2 hours playing with it. cut some more out of the floor.. only had 2 grinder blades left so had to make do with what i had coz cbf driving to bunnings.... so the utes still not finished been lowered... i need to lower the front still by quite a bit.. cut the front apron off and put a sporty one on there that covers the original chassis.. that should give me another 50/70mm lower @ the front.. so anyhow heres some pix.. i had to tip it form its back.. to normal so i tied some heavy duty rope to the roof and used that to support it while i got the engine crane under it to lower it to the ground.

well i picked up a newer chassis to use under the cab. just 1 problem. it came with a hilux cab still on it. lucky yesterday a bloke came n picked it up.. now i can start to put the cab on it and get this beast back on the road. took 1hr 20mins from the guy arriving and unbolting everything and loading it onto his trailer n leaving.. not bad for a 2 person job  soon i should have photos of the corty cab on this chasis all fabbed up and sitting nice and low

That looks awesome. the car is damn clean and straight. the photos make it look like it was just built and rolled into the photobooth. very impressive.

shes now in her right place as a girl... on her back  and the old tray is in peices now. so i wont be tempted to put the heavy lump back on it.

bit has changed. had been sitting around for yonks while my house was been built. now i got my shed setup 5 daze after the concrete was poured.. the corty went in and got stripped. tray off cab off cut into the floor to channel it so the cab sits nice and LOW instead of been sky high. the hilux rails will protrude about 110mm into the cab area.. so we'll see how things go Seat wise.. hopefully sort something out that works no worries. also hope i can use my clutch no worries.. will put a manual pedal box in either tomorrow or next day and see how much room i have.

yes it does
