On lotus heads that are often skimmed too much you could use the various range of Cometic head gaskets these can be quite thick and lower the CR. Cheers Brendan -

I had this problem and was easily cured by purchasing some bathroom scales and a diet book... ;) -
If its the same as the earlier P14 calipers ford ones had the brake pipes enter downwards from the top other P14 calipers used had brake pioes that fix in the middle if the side.

Wise words mate. A rational moment in the fog Rob? ;)

Hi mate I have one mk1 running a type 9 with a 3.77 and one car with a 3.9 and a 2000E. The 2000e is a combo ideal for all driving except motorway cruising 75 is about 5000 in top not that relaxed. The type 9 gives you all that the 2000e does but with an overdrive 5th for motorways. So depends where you will be driving your car most. Remember also wheels diameter and tyre profile. I have a spreadsheet that for any classic ford gearbox and rear axle and tyre prfile gives you mph in each gear. If you or anyone else wants a copy pm me your email. Cheers Brendan
