  1. Hi Neil - welcome to the site :) I can keep an eye on your progress lol ;) I'll have to edit my signature now :(
  2. I don't think so, but will point them here. :)
  3. Deposit taken - car is now provisionally sold. The new owner is going to restore it :)
  4. Bump! Okay I have decided to definately sell - as much as I have tried, I currently cannot see myself dedicating any time to the Cortina in the near future. It is getting to the stage where it will need a little tlc here and there. Took it for a spin this morning. The car is ready to be driven away. I am open to realistic offers - pm me in the first instance.
  5. Hi Ozzy, Nice one :) I still haven't sorted mine. Sadly my Cortina is not getting any attention at the minute due to other things going on :( I barely manage to start it up very couple of weeks and drive it round the block.
  6. Good luck with the sale - looks like a good starting point for someone. Like the colour!! :)
  7. Yep - I think I might - went for a lovely drive this morning - what else compares?
  8. It is pretty good, but does need tidying up - although I must say, now that we seem to be having nicer weather, I am starting to have second thoughts about selling it. Kinda getting tempted to do the work myself and keep for another year or two :) :)
  9. Hi all Thinking it's time to sell my trusty old 1600E Cortina 1600E Series 2 G reg. Tax(exempt) & Mot till Nov 2013 Good for a daily Stainless Steel exhaust (straight through system) K&N filter New Varta battery Will come with a few spares including fuel tank sender, rear polybushes (need to be fitted), windscreen, plus any other bits I can find. Needs cosmetics:- A respray Interior tidied up a bit – headlining is sagging, passenger seat, dash top. Fuel gauge only works when it wants to - I suspect it is a bad earth behind the dash, but will include the spare sender unit I have just in case! Other than that 4 great tyres, brakes all good, drives pretty good, can certainly be used as a daily. I used to use it as a daily until I changed my job last August (I don't have anywhere decent to park it at work i.e have to park it on the street!!!) So it mainly just sits on my drive doing nothing. I know I wont get the time to tidy it up this year as I am too busy with work (and setting up my own business). So there ya go - you could drive it all summer, take it to shows, and tidy it up next winter! In my opinion it could tidy up quite nicely, but it would need a full restoration to ever be a show car, because it has been patched up over the years - arches, stut tops etc. Saying that it is very very solid! So more suitable for a daily! Looking for £2500 - ready to drive away! PM me in the first instance please. I will put some more recent pics up in the next day or so...but anyone who is genuinely interested will want to come and see. I am in Swindon, Wiltshire.
  10. Just checked, and found it - knew it was supposed to be under there somewhere :) The car wasn't starting, and I suspect it was a bad engine earth. Time to give it a clean or replace it.
  11. Thanks - I thought so.... :)
  12. Hi All Probably a silly question, but does anyone know how/where the engine should be earthed on a MK2 (series 2) 1600E? Thanks Martin
  13. The thing is I cannot see what replacing that part will do (upper spring seat I now believe it is called) - since there is no bearing there - could it be the spring causing the problem? This is a bummer either way, stopping me from getting the MOT....
