Would anyone be interested in buying these? Made from an A2-70 stainless M5 Bolt to replace the original steel ones. The plastic thumb knob is for illustration only to show assembled. A little blob of superglue can be dropped in the top for extra security although they are a good tap in fit.

Hello, I don’t suppose anyone knows the paint colour code for the brown sloping dash? It’s from a 1971 2.0 GT. Pacific blue on the outside and brown/tan on the inside. I’m spraying up the dash and would be nice to know the exact colour used or I’ll just end up using any old brown closest to it. Thank you
-
Yes it must be the horn mount although I have only got one on the drivers side. It’s a 1971 2.0 GT. Maybe they added one on the other side on later models.

Thanks Tony, you’re right it did have air horns fitted but they were after market at some point and were bolted elsewhere…. But it was perhaps the place for the original horn?
-
How much if you haven’t sold them already?

Hello, can anyone tell me what this was used for please? I’m having a bit of a strip down and I saw this with nothing attached to it. thank you
-
Hi, yeah I fitted it all and it worked. I don’t think I ever posted anything of the completed work. I didn’t keep it on the car for long and put a single side draught 45 Weber on with a lynx manifold. It’s much easier to keep in tune. I ended selling the whole thing. I’ll try and find some old pics and vids of it running. Just realised it was 5 years ago!

Mk3 2.0 Brake upgrade

Ah yes I know what you mean. Both you and Richard talk about tricky bits getting the Sierra cable to fit that crescent moon bracket. Is it because the cable is thicker or is there something else going on? -

My #1 reason... Rear discs look good.

Re. Craig's post - I did all of that except I took the horseshoe from an old Cortina hand brake cable, had it re-plated and fitted it to a new Sierra cable to make a new hybrid one.
Which part are you talking about when you say the horseshoe? -
Hello, I've not posted in a while what with house move, renovation and children, hence no work being done on the Cortina. Slowly though I'm trying to get my hand back in and one of the things i've been thinking about for a long time is a Brake system upgrage. What i'd like are discs all round with possibly an upgrade to the master cylinder as well and maybe along with that a servo will naturally be changed too? But with discs on the rear I wonder if there are any problems hooking up the handbrake cable? If anyone has any experience changing their brakes in this way id appreciate any help and advice. I like the look of some of the kits on Burtonpower but none of them mention the handbrake issue or whether they're compatible with the original Master Cylinder (which by the way is my THIRD one!). Thank you!

Hmm yes, I wouldn't know how to do a compression test but would like to find out how. Thinking about it now I've always suspected that there's been something wrong with cylinder number 4 because the spark plug is sometimes a bit oily. For a while now I've been wanting to take the head off and de Coke but it's just time... When I do I can inspect things then. I suspect I'll end up taking the whole engine out and either refurbing it or replacing it. I have a 205 block which I bored out to 2.1 just sitting waiting so might put that in.... Time though is my enemy.
