All good. thanks
I can see your earked by him trying to sell the car for more money.
But can I ask, did you get what you wanted for it?
Also did he say he wouldn't sell it?
You were probably not greedy enough, and he saw a bargain / good deal. Its the way of the world John.
You' just remember you sold the car to someone you thought was going to keep it for a good price Your a WINNER !!!!
Its OK,, let it go and move on, I promise you will feel better and soon forget

Update on winter jobs
Well I was hoping to do two jobs this winter, exhaust and electric power steering.
Hmmm!
Taking two 3in exhaust tubes up and over the rear axle and between the top suspension arms has been a real challenge,
Ive got the better of one side so far, am hoping the other side should be easier now i understand more . I will get some picks when its welded up

I will never use them again,
Thanks Stve
Sorted now

Most EPS uses a road speed signal to increase the assist at slow speeds and trim it back as speed increases. Having full power assistance on, even at 60+ mph, would be an "interesting" drive.Hello Rich

Good morning and welcome Malcom
I will also be taking the plunge in the near future and fitting electric PAS to my MK3 .
It would be great if you could share as much information as possible on the installation. If I have moved on to my fit I would also share what I have found to be issues and problems

If it was me, I would adapt the ash tray so When you pulled it out It put the choke on

Morning John.
I advised someone the other month about the same thing. But this was on one that was already in the place you suggested, I pointed out that in the event of a crash you knee would be in direct line of fire

I uninstalled FB from my phone some months back. I got fed up with constant b******s adverts, how great someone's life is posts, and pictures of people's food/drink. Still go on once in a while via my laptop but don't miss it at all. Mostly motorbike stuff that I've gone back to doing.
Would love to see this at the Yat next year, and shout loudly at you when I've had a beer lol. Hoping to be in my Bakkie but as I've not even started the strip down yet I'm not sure it'll make it, so possibly my Sierra or if I pull my finger out the Silver Fox mk3 might see the light of day for the first time in years. That needs a resto too though so who knows.
Keep this thread going on your updates, it's one I check on when I do log in, and much better to re-read than FB.
Morning Dave
I joined it for Cortina stuff, but by the end I had pages like . car shows. car shows Yorkshire. vintage off road bikes.. Suzuki a100.. Acme picks. Corina mk1 mk2 mk3 mk3 fanatics mk4/5 fanatics American parts for sale old pictures of Sheffield. Constant friend suggestions and page suggestions adverts . Friend requests from people who hadn’t set a friend requests . And the final straw was,, I helped moderate 2 pages, but because I banned lots of wanna be joining scammers, FACEBOOK took away the option to ban anyone from me and replaced it with review in 30 days .
Then you have the daily scammers to look out for , just have a look at market place, OMG pages of way too cheap cars bikes and boats last one I saw was a 2013 plate motorhome £6,500
Yat!
you comming back to us then Dave ? thought you did download festavel ?
Yes will keep it up, the exhast isnt much to see, but as said will do a indepth on the electric PAS

Good morning all
Well had a OK year this year, as the weather and some issues with the car meant not attending three of my favorite events
Looking forward to next year now
I know Ive not been on here much of late, I become a FBer, which I have to say is far busier than the two main forums I go on, but the distractions and the constant.
DO YOU WANT THIS from FB on there Just saps your time. So have decided to come off until the new year. and then see how I feel.
Anyhow back to cortinas, well its winter time again and that means new jobs on the car
Winter jobs
Exhausts
Power Steering
One of this winters jobs is to fabricate a 3in exhaust up and over the rear axle with rear twin exist rather than the side exists, as these were just not practice
And depending on how the exhausts go's time wise ? Another job is to fit electric power steering.
As regards to the fitting of the electric power steering, I will hopefully for doing a full write up with illustrations and measurements for anyone else who may want to do this . On here and in a designated post

The Ford Cortina MKV 2.3 Ghia has a 2294cc 12v V6 4 speed/ Manual transmission. 95.7 Bhp / 115.2 lb-ft per ton which helps it accelerate from
0-60 mph in 9.70 seconds.
0 - 105 mph 12.78 seconds
= 3.08 seconds to do 55 mph
Nice !!!
