  1. Looking for a new carb for my 1.6 Pinto. A "good" VV would be fine just to get her running again but I'd prefer a weber with manifold from a 1.6l or 2.0l Cheers, Ju

    Pinto Carburettor

Hi guys, I'm looking for a new carb for my 1.6 Crusader. Its got a VV at the moment which I've tried to get working with no luck. Looking for either a weber (2.0l is fine) or a set of twin carbs depending on what's included and how much they are. Don't really want to spend a fortune on it, just want to get it running again. Cheers, Ju

    Rear Brakes

I'm in need of some rear brakes for my Crusader. its a 1.6 and the adjusters are knackered, I also have the internals off of a 2.0 litre axle, so I either need the drums and back plates for from a 2.0l or the adjusters for a 1.6 Crusader. Anybody able to help me? Cheers, Ju :)

    Mk5 Fuel Tank

Got one sorted out locally in the end cheers for your replies :)
  6. Ah I tried a CVH one which didn't work, I got a white one from a mk2 Escort which works OK but obviously I still need a replacement. Would this be the right one? it certainly says mk5 Cortina but it says that its yellow not white? http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574629005&toolid=10001&campid=5335900709&customid=&mpre=http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Capri-Cortina-Escort-Sierra-Temperature-Transmitter-/140594297311?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20bc12b9df#ht_604wt_956 Cheers, Julian

    Mk5 Fuel Tank

Cheers for the replies :) How much would you want to post the tank? Typically I've got no jobs in the Sheffield area for a while now. There is a chance I may be going to Scotland next week though so may be able to come back past Sheffield but it would be middayish if that would be any good? Cheers, Julian

    Mk5 Fuel Tank

Hi guys, I'm after a mk5 Fuel tank as my cars just failed it MOT on it. I do a fair bit of travelling with work so can probably collect from most places, I'm based in Wiltshire though. Cheers, Ju
  9. Afternoon everyone :) My Crusader has been playing up a little lately, it doesn't seem to idle and when I took her to Santa pod the other weekend for CFS I had to wait for some friends in Northampton (Mk4 Escorts are no match for a crusader haha) when I went to start the car it wasn't having any of it. It just turned over and over but not even firing. I had to leave it about 30 mins in the end and it burst in to life after this. I'm fairly sure that its something to do with the fuelling (Unless anybody on here has an input?) so seems like a good opportunity to bin the old VV carb and fit something a little better. I should say my Crusader is a 1.6 Now I have a couple of 1.6 Fiesta carbs, a DFT from a mk2 XR2 and a TLDM with autochoke from a mk3 1.6S. Is there a manifold that would fit either of these carbs? Ideally the TLDM as it has the autochoke although DFT is the better of the two I'm led to believe. Secondly is there anywhere I can get a new water temperature sensor from? not having much luck from the usual places. Cheers Julian
  10. Hi guys, I'm after a front valance for my Crusader, preferably a mk5 one though I understand the mk4 ones fit as well just a slightly different design. Does anybody have one or know where I can get one? Cheers, Ju
  11. Also after a front valance if either of the above don't want them, also how much are you after for the doors? and what colour are they in? Cheers, Ju :)
  12. Cheers everyone, I'm about to go and tackle this now so I'll let you all know how I get on :)
  13. Hi all, Just taken my Crusader for an MOT and its failed on surprisingly little, couple of bushes, temporary fuel cap (feel stupid for forgetting it had this on it), a bolt missing from the seat and movement between the tie rod and steering rack. On the MOT sheet its got "Nearside Inner Track Rod end ball joint has excessive play" What is likely to cause this? I read somewhere about there being some adjustment possible any ideas on this? Or failing that do I need a new track rod/steering rack? I haven't had a chance to take it apart and have a look yet, that's my job for Thursday :) Thanks, Ju

Hey everyone, got this just before Xmas, means my mk2 gets delayed in its return to the road but this came up at a price I couldn't really say no too :) You'll have to excuse the images, not quite used to the camera in snowy conditions haha Plans are.. to do absolutely nothing (except general maintenance) to it until I get the mk2 back on the road.. then who knows but I'm liking the idea of a V6 :) Cheers, Ju
