Hi all. For sale - - some new outer sills purchased but never used. unsure if gen. ford but in VGC. Asking £40 plus postage for the pair. - rear valance for mk3 - purchased but never used, as the welder ended up mending the existing one. again unsure if gen. ford but looked a darn good fit. Asking £60 plus postage. - new gen. ford wings for mk5 - again, purchased by my friend but never used. he wants £150 for these. Don't know if it's of any help mate but you can get the cortina master cylinder totally re - sleeved and reconditioned at a place called PAST PARTS. They will do it by post!

Hi mate - got one. I paid £40 for it but won't be using it. It's yours for 30 or will swap for a decent back bumper for mk3! In Woking, Surrey - PM me if youre interested. Any other mk3 bits to swap??

Few more bits and bobs done over the summer - nothing too major!! Now hoping to convert to 2litre + 5 speed. Rude not to really : )

Cheers Bortaf - they have said I can send it back under guarantee. When it arrives back again, I think I'll take your advice and pressure bleed it!

Bortaf - I think that they re - sleeved the cylinder. Maybe they didn't drill the hole out properly / at all?!!

Hi all - Further to my earlier post, I sent the master cylinder away for reconditioning (to a place called "past parts") When I got the cylinder back, I fitted it all up, and manually bled the system. I had no problem with the front, but when I came to doing the back, there was no pressure / fluid coming through at all - tried for ages. Eventually cracked open the outlet on the M/cylinder that serves the back brakes, and there is no fluid coming out of it!! Do you think that they have f***ed up, or am I doing something wrong? In any case, fluid should at least be coming out of that outlet, especially when the pedal is depressed, surely? Any ideas gratefully received before I end up taking the whole thing back off and sending it back.. Cheers guys!

There are 2 different sizes mate - i think it's 11mm width and 13mm width. You will need to measure first to find out which you need, and you can purchase it from East Kent Trim - it's cheap as chips.

Hey guys - took my mk3 for a long cruise from west sussex to reading today, and the brakes have intermittently started to fail. most of the time they are fine, but every once in a while, nothing happens when i press the brake pedal - no resistance at all, all the way to the floor. By pumping the pedal, the problem seems to resolve, but it did start to get a bit hairy!! The discs and pads are ok, the hoses have been replaced with braided goodridge ones recently, and the brake fluid is new-ish, and full. Any ideas please folks?

Hi all - could I trouble you for some advice? Hoping to rebuild the 1600 Pinto in my Mk3. Am on a bit of a budget but I can do it over time to spread the cost - want to do it as well as possible. Could anyone tell me their opinion in what I should purchase, ie gaskets, piston rings, bearings etc? I am hoping for a list of everything I should need, and if anyone has an idea of how much it will all cost, that would be great. (new carb and manifold to go on, so carb not included) Thanks everyone.

Not sure but I think the Old Part Store may have them?
