  1. It will help in your search if you can let people know what size engine you have as 1600 sumps are slightly different to 1300 ones to clear the con rod bolts.
  2. 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear ratios are completely different but 4th is the same as it is a direct gear. However, to change a 3.5 box to a 2.97 box you need an input shaft, 3rd mainshaft gear plus the 2nd motion / laygear that sits in the bottom of the box from a 2.97:1 gearbox. You may need other parts also depending on a few things. Only the 1st and 2nd physical gears on the mainshaft are the same between the two boxes. The ratios are not the same across the two boxes (3.5 and 2.97) as the the ratios (even 1st and 2nd) are made up of a combination of two sets of gears to make each ratio for each gear, except for 4th due to being direct. Finding the gears you need on their own would probably be harder than just buying a 2000e gearbox.
  3. Ok thanks, I'll keep looking as I've got some slam panel repair ends and might have a go at mine if I can't find a new slam panel. Cheers.
  4. Might still be interested depending on condition - any photos? Cheers.
  5. The flex plate doesn't have the ring gear fastened to it - the ring gear is on the torque converter in Borg Warner 35's. Flex plates seem to be quite rare - good luck in your search.
  6. Very interested in the slam panel - can you PM me some pics please? Cheers.
  7. Hi I've got one in nice condition. PM me for details as I can't attach photos in a post but I can send them in PM for some reason!
  8. Looks like I mis-understood then as those in the listing are listed as track rod-end ones and look smaller than the steering arm balljoint ones. Steering arm ones are bigger than track-rod end ones.
  9. Just re-reading your post did you mean track rod-end gaitors of which a cortina has four, or steering arm gaitors (ie the ones that go on the steering arms?) of which cortinas have two?
  10. Some original genuine Ford ones here if you like the original look rather than black ones : http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574629005&toolid=10001&campid=5335900709&customid=&mpre=http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302378671692?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  11. Try Andy @ Arrow Engineering - I know he had about 10 axles this week - not sure if they are Cortina or not though but worth a try. 07891 604755
  12. I've checked the dipsticks - definitely both exactly the same length, but the 711m 6750 BA one has higher "full" mark than the 751m 6750 BA dipstick by approx 6-7mm. Didn't get photos as I didn't have my camera where the dipsticks are. Let me know if you need photos.
  13. The dipstick will make a noise as it does touch the sump, but the hitting is - as I described in my earlier message - the dipstick's ferrule hitting the tube inside. I will get you a photo of the two different dipsticks and PM it you as I can't post on here as I don't have a photo sharing account.
