  1. It was listed on a classic auction for the end of last month. Anybody know what happened?
  2. :) I actually sold it a number of years ago, just establishing my credentials on the Cortina front.
  3. A timely bump for this thread from the past since I'm lurking around here again! :)
  4. I might be looking for a project, any chance of pictures to me? I'll pm my email
  5. :) Just used to how it was when I had it, I see it's had a new battery but I'd be willing to bet it's not had much else done to it, that's the fuel filter I put in it as well (I've checked my build photo's and the writing's in the same place). A decent service would probably be a great shout. Any questions, just pop me a PM Regards
  6. Cool, it was a piper cross panel filter which I had custom cut to fit the throttle bodies. It's one of the few cars I've done where I can say I would do little differently. Between the interior, the grunt and the brakes, it's a nice modern balance but still looks like a Cortina. The brake fluid looks pretty black as well! Have fun!
  7. If you bend it I'll come back and haunt you when I die!!! No air filter I see, he'll need to do something about that :)
  8. That's an interesting question. The Cortina was great fun as it was the first time where I had the time/money/skill to get the result I wanted, running this thread and the camaraderie amongst Cortina owners was great as well. The Fiat's were good fun albeit I got fed up with butter soft fasteners and the tight access, the looks and grunt were very good, handling (even when tweaked) was always fairly average however. I went from that to this, which I actually found very soulless and unrewarding The Boxster has been the most rewarding as I'm doing stuff that very few owners across here do, they are perceived as being tricky to work on (they are not) and the usual ownertakes it to a garage. I've had it all apart other than the block/crank/pistons/heads and it's a blast. The noise/handling/brakes are in a different league from the rest.
  9. 104K on the clock and still on original paint, they are galvanised properly, no rust whatsoever, anywhere. Great fun to drive, parts can be sourced reasonably through the OEM route but full bhuna Porsche prices if you can't DIY or you take it to a OPC (official Porsche Centre - none of that common dealer stuff here my good man!) Front discs and pads fitted by a OPC......that'll be £800 please. New clutch...........£1000-£1500, I've a receipt for a full service, plus front brakes and a condensor from the previous owner there for £2.5K There are good independents and good forums to make it worthwhile, they are dirt cheap second hand. I bought that for £4.7 albeit I've easily put £2k into it. :)
  10. This is the current toy. I did 2 Fiat Coupes upto the same standard as the Cortina and decided to treat myself. It has however been completely in bits and had a full rebuild from front to back, the funs in the spannering! Just realised it was 9 years ago that I started on the Cortina, jings time passes quickly doesn't it?!
  11. Hello! :) Good to see the forum is still on the go and doing well! The guy that bought this is selling it again after having kepy it garaged and using it 6 times in the past 3 years. I sold it for £8k, he's happy to listen to offers for less than that as he needs the space. If anybody wants to PM me I can give you his contact details. Regards!
  12. Thanks Rob, coming from you I appreciate that!
  13. It's a lot smaller, lighter and stronger than a type 9. Easy fit as the thread shows!
  14. Thanks for the comments but no I don't have any footage of the car moving. 4 throttle bodies and a 7k rev limit sounded good though!
  15. Rubber seal sold, everything else up for sale. Next stop ebay if it doesn't go here! Somebody must want the Ghia centre caps!
