Sounds a little on the dear side to me mate , what paint system are you using Would be 2 pack thats etch primer 3ltr paint 3ltr thinners and the clear coat :winner: not even sure how much ill need or what ill need :rofl: Etch primer you will only need 1ltr as all it needs to do is etch then you will need a couple of ltrs 2 K high build primer 2 ltrs of 2k basecoat and max 2 ltrs of lacquer 3 ltrs of thinners is max needed you will also need 2 k hardener if you need any advice p.m me would be glad to help

sorry not sure if it's a late or early Mk5 just usually see that colour on Mk4s :rolleyes: Its a V plate mk5 Rob i was told this colour was only made between 79 and 80 Sable brown

yup...thats him I thought it was just me and the time I arrived. he does work hard though. :headscratch: You guys dont seem to be around when im still working late at night though lol I had trouble getting the paint as this colour was not available in a basecoat in ICI or Max Mayer paint systems that i usually use.had to use a different supplier

That does seem too cheap i wouldnt do it for that price, i charge a minimum of £1000 for a repaint and dont make alot of money at that price,so i cant see how they can do it.Get it in writing what they are going to do for that price then everybody is clear .Some bodyshops that i wont name give a cheap price start the job then when the car is in a position where it cant be moved phone up and say there is more work than first thought and will have to up the price.Not saying they will do this as i dont know who they are and it would be unfair to make this assumption but just be wary and make sure you know what you are getting for your money

I hate to say this Martin but i had a Nos tailgate for an estate about three years ago and in my stupidtity thought no ones going to want one of them and scrapped it ;)
