From what I know from dealing with oldfordpartstore (the last time was Sept 2007) the bloke doesn't work everyday so you don't always get an answer on the phone, also I've sent email requests & had no reply either. I would suggest trying ringing again at a different time or day.

Can't argue with your comments on CVH type 9's, my 1.8 CVH Sierra has now done 205,000 with the original box !!! As you say just not enough grunt to damage anything !!

I use Auto gearbox fluid (ATF) in the type 9's in my cortina & sierra, it's what FORD themselves changed to in the early days of the Type 9 to help with poor gearchanges
