I went out for one last ride in it the other day... :wife: WOW what a car. It's going to be sad day when it goes  . Still onwards and upwards lets see what will roll out the garage next?? Good Luck Daniel -
Doors are now sold!

Some snaps of what I have let me know if any good. This is surface rust where it has been stored.

I kicked over the jar of drained brake fluid!! Then I gave the car a quick wash as was looking a bit glum. Will look at getting the rear axle on and fitted Thursday fingures crossed. tother day i drained some engine oil into an old washing up bowl, then promptly stood in it  ruined me socks  gonna be well differant with the 2.0 diff :winner: I'm just hoping it's better on fuel!! Was costing me an arm and a leg to keep her going before! I've also spilt a washing up bowl not too long ago filled with drained engine oil! All part of the fun I guess  . Well another picture of axle lined up. Have nearly got it on now just got to dark for me to finish.

I'll have a rummage in my shed at work tomorrow and get some snaps up. You can decide if there any good.

I would have thought the doors are the same as pre airflow. If you get desperate I have 3 doors that could do with some tlc also have a door skin for a rear door not sure what side!

Well this morning I have taken the old 1300 axle off which was a struggle! Then painted the underside with underseal. So it is already to start plumbing in the new 2ltr axle. Here's some pics. Bit of painting...

That looks great, good wheel choice :headscratch: -

Its a long story, but the short version is that someone i share a unit with cut it into pieces. I was gutted. Still have the whole car just its in 4 or 5 sections. The rear section from B pillar back is in one piece if you wanted to make a trailer - pretty unique. I also have a couple of 2 door mk5 cars that are still intact! 1 has a fresh built v8 fitted but not yet plumbed in The other is a standard silver 1300l with its original crossflow, capri front lights and 7 inch compomotive MS wheels - that one is on the road Have a lot of other mk5 spares and some engines - am leaving the unit so everything must go sadly cheers Ben You need to get some pictures up, we do love 2 doors and pictures :poo:

What has happened to the car?
-
Didn't expect it to be a popular shout but it's got character and grunt and it's tweakable, because it's over 10 years old I can put it on a classic insurance policy It also cost me only 25% of what I got for the Cortina hence, financially, it was a good shout. The Cortina was fun, being here great, but it's time to move on. May I ask who your insured with? Mine is 15 years to get it on classic policy

They both looked mint, shame no one was around to chat to about them! Was a bit of a shock to see them I'd made a wrong turn and went into the garden centre to turn around and then I spotted them! Was hoping they was for sale !

Hmm see some nice Mk3's whilst on Holiday down in South Wales. Looks like they are both having work done as both the rear lights was missing. They was in a garden centre. They must be someone's on here?
