  1. A series I sender from a MkII might fit, but I'm not sure it would work right. For a start the tanks are different heights/depths (MkI being 8 gallons where MkII is 10) and I think I'm right in saying the senders work at different voltages. A series II MkII sender has a completely different fitting so will definitely be no good to you
  2. You can certainly see why it was going to be cut up!
  3. I don't think so Tony. I remember talking to Jeff at Symonds Yat one year, him telling us about how he was just finalising the original designs and development work for fitting the V6s in to the MkIs when Ford announced the MkII so he had to redo a lot of it to suit the new car.

  5. GAZ for shocks, Rally Design for roller top mounts
  6. Pull up the carpet under the pedals and check if its leaking past the push rod and dribbling down the inside of the bulkhead
  7. Workshop/daytime number 020 8977 9891 Lotus Cortina owner (both MkI and II) of 30+ years, and gearbox/transmission specialist for even longer. Highly recomended
  8. As above, the pipe won't make any difference to the clutch arm travel - what goes in must come out! Make sure you've got the right cylinders top and bottom (you haven't fitted a 1 inch bore Zodiac slave for example have you? - that'll not provide enough travel. Should be the MkII only 7/8th) Also, make sure the bleed nipple is sitting to the top of the slave. You'll never get it bleed nicely if the nipple is pointing downwards.
  9. No, that's a new one on me, looks great with that tan interior but what a shame the rear arches were put on in the wrong place. Would love to know the asking price
  10. I've seen the fourth one, it all looked like the real thing to me
  11. And different again if Gt/E/Lotus dash
  12. Expensive, that's what! Buy that from the MkIIOC, and you've saved enough money for not 1, but 2 years worth of membership!
  13. Same reason as the higher price when the word "Lotus" is added to it. As Steve says, you can fit the lager bore cylinder but this will limit the movement of the clutch arm and most likely cause the clutch to drag. 7/8ths in the one for all MkIIs
  14. Why not? They can do a lot more than jut hand brake cables for you www.fordcortinamk2oc.co.uk
  15. No. Only one clutch slave cylinder fits every factory MkII. Rebuild kits or complete cylinders are available from the MkIIOC spares scheme
  16. It varied from day to day, anything between 100 and 250. All timed depending on nice places to stay at and not having to go too far in one hit, the idea being to have mending time each day for breakdowns or time to wander around the places instead of spending all day every day driving - all in the name of keeping wives and girlfriends happy

Wish I'd have been able to get closer to it to get a number plate. Guess we'll never know which one it was

No it wasn't Ian either, another one I'd know straight away
  19. I could hardly believe my eyes this morning, I came up behind an orangy red MkIII Crayford just outside Woking (I'd come from Knaphill but don't know the area well enough to know exactly where this was). Who ever was driving wasn't hanging around so I didn't get any more details. MkIIIs aren't really my thing, but it certainly looked good
  20. Isn't the interior light feed wire purple and white? From memory theres something purple and white in that area somewhere anyway  You're right though, a constant live feed that earths at the light unit (when using unit switch) and at the two door plunger switches. I start by checking you're getting power to the light unit and then clean up the bulb holder terminals, otherwise you'll be looking for the other end of the feed wire - I think I'm right in saying it leaves the dash loom underneath the glove box
