    MK4 2.3S

Hi All, I've decided to sell my MK4 2.3S Manual. I'm selling because I bought a 2.3 Ghia and now I have too many cars. I've owned this car almost continuously since 2002, with Jamie Davey/Gavin Black owning it for a year in 2012. I have a history file with all MOTs and receipts since 2002, but very little paperwork prior to that. I would describe its condition as good, not concours. The body was restored by Jamie Davey in 2012, and is 99.9% rust free. However there are some minor imperfections in the paintwork. The engine bay wasn't prep'd by the bodyshop before paint, so that is the worse bit. Gavin found me a better interior which I fitted, which is good but its still not perfect, e.g. parcel shelf has been cut and I've put 2 speakers on it to cover that. Mechanically I've kept it serviced and in regular use since 2002. Using the car only on dry days, and doing about 400-500 miles per year attending Cortina Day and the occasional other show. The car has also featured in Classic Magazine in early 2015 The car is largely original with the only 2 mods being sensible ones, i.e. fully poly bushed and unleaded heads fitted. Its a difficult car to price as there are only 2 known survivors, so not many sales to compare to. However, last year I saw a 2.0S sell on e-bay for £6K, and that had no MOT. Although the condition of the car looked similar in the pics. I'm not desperate to sell this, and don't need cash. So I'm going to advertise this for £6K. If there's no interest, I may just rent another garage and mothball her for a couple of years. Anyway, I've attached some pics. Any questions then please PM me. Thanks

    Mk4 power rack

I've got a v6 mk4 PAS rack sitting in my garage mate :)
  5. Bit of a long shot this: Anyone got a radiator for a Mk4 2.3? Must be automatic. I have a manual rad that I can give in exchange for this. Plus cash of course.
  6. 2.8's have a longer water pump and therefore the power steering pulley is set on a slightly longer (approx. 20mm) shaft.
  7. Thanks for all the replies. CortinaGav from Leicester fitted a new bearing in the end. Not something I could have done myself. Thanks Gav
  8. The PAS tensioner pulley on my 2.3 v6 has seized up. I thought I had a spare, but its too long. I suspect it's off a 2.8. Does anyone have a 2.3 one they don't mind parting with?
  9. Thanks mate  Yes the mk5 ones are the same as 2.8 Granada ones. PM sent
  10. Hi All, The exhaust manifold has cracked on my mk5 2.3. I've not had much luck locating either a new or used replacement. However, I did find performance headers for 2.0/2.3/2.8 cologne from MotoMobil in Germany: http://www.motomobil.com/exhaust-manifold-v6-20-28i-headers-set-have-to-be-modified,3237,42812310-3.html?currency=GBP I wondered if anyone has ever tried to fit a pair to their Cortina? I also thought it would be helpful to point them out in case anyone else is stuck on this problem. It says they need to be modified to fit, but doesn't say how? Hopefully it just means cutting a short bit off the straight pipe that connects to the centre section. Ideally, I'd like to hear from anyone else who's fitted them before shelling out £230 on them to make sure the required mod is straight forward. Thanks, Chris
  11. Thanks Martog. Please let me know what you find. I've located performance headers in Germany, but apparently they have to be modified to fit.
  12. Thanks for your suggestion. Some of my friends have MIGs and can weld in new panels. I understood from them that special equipment is needed to weld thick iron casts? I guess it can't hurt to locate a professional welder and ask the question.
  13. This is a long shot, but I cant find one anywhere :( A new exhaust manifold for a mk5 2.3; The n/s one that bends down. The n/s one always goes on the curve. Theres a guy on e-bay selling a job lot of o/s ones for £18, but no n/s manifolds, coz its always the n/s one that fails. Failing that does anyone know anywhere that can repair a damaged manifold?
  14. Wow, a MK4 2.3 GL. :winner: This is the only known mk4 2.3 GL  The only other one I've seen is the rotten one that sheffieldcortina broke a couple of years ago, oh and that the highly modified white one fitted with a BOA Good luck with the sale  I hope it goes to another enthusiast off here.
