  1. Just acquired. June 2021. Using as is and making a list of work to do, minimal as car is near mint, while collecting bits for LHD to RHD conversion. Plan is to make the conversion look standard but retain the ability to reverse it. More photos when I can compress them to fit limits!!
  2. Well hello folks and maybe goodbye for now too, i’m selling my 1973 2 door GT. 94,630 miles. It’s a good honest car, 2dr GT’s are getting hard to find now. It passed its mot on the 18th June 2020, i had an advisory on rear brake imbalance so fitted new cylinders both sides. Front callipers Rebuilt (by Bigg Red) with stainless steel pistons. HEL stainless braided flexi’s front & rear 2.0 pinto with electronic ignition (sierra dizzy) Twin choke 32/36 weber 4 branch GT exhaust manifold 5 speed Type 9 gearbox Atlas 3.75 diff. Gaz adjustable rebound dampeners front and rear (will come with original shocks) Polybushed almost everywhere front and rear ARBs (handles, stops and goes very well) Heated rear window Original interior (aftermarket gearknob) All gauges/interior light etc work Electric fan (via fused relay) operated with a genuine mk3 pfl dash switch to look standard. Halogen lamps. Fairly recent new carpet / belts no speaker holes in doorcards and rare factory blanking plate for radio Although it is wired to accept a modern iso plug stereo (All fused) Both doors, boot, ign and even the locking glove box work off one key, there’s also a spare key. Filler cap is locking and a nice original one but only one key for that. I know the boot spoiler and wheels might not be to everyones taste so I have a set of original sports steel wheels for it and (Dep on the price) a set of 1600E rostyles too. I also have a very good boot lid to go with it. It is a lovely car, its not perfect/concourse but it is very solid and does look great, it is very reliable. I had any structural work done by a classic specialist a few years back and it cost a small fortune. I later had some small bits at the back of the sills to inner arches done where i asked the restorer to put sill bungs back in so you can access down there to cavity wax and replace the bungs afterwards. All the factory jacking points are there and solid although i always use a trolley jack on the axles. The floor under the carpet is absolutely superb, see the last photo. If you need more pics (i have vids i can prob email too) just give me a shout. I am happy to negotiate on price/parts just let me know and hopefully we can settle on a price that suits. I really would prefer the car goes to a cortina enthusiast. I’ll prob get another, poss a backie or estate in a few years as i’ve never owned either of those but for now I fancy something modern while my son is quite young. £13750 ono
  3. Hi everyone. I have just listed my MK3 Ford Cortina on eBay. This is a 1976 model and has had a lot of work and money spent to give it a new lease of life. It started off life as a 1300 Base model, but last year I have had a new standard 1600 GT engine professionally built and fitted along with a reconditioned type 9 five speed gearbox. I have also carried out a lot of work on the exterior and interior to make this lovely car almost as good as new. For full details of the parts added and work carried out, please use the link below to have a look at the listing and go through the detailed description... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Cortina-MK3-1600-1976-4-Door-White-5-Speed-Modified-to-1600-GT-Spec/263596950534 Below is a link to a photo montage on YouTube of the car... At time of writing it already has a bid, but if anyone here on the forum is interested, I am offering a buy it now price of £10,995 or near reasonable offer. First to see it and make an offer will buy. Let me know if you have any questions and i will be happy to answer. Cheers.
