I'm sure I read somewhere that if you are using a hammer and dolly you use the dolly behind the dent and the hammer on the same side as the dent was caused, if that makes sense. It seems a bit back to front as you would expect to use the hammer behind the dent to knock it out , but i think you risk stretching the panel if you do it that way. richard 2509 0 Posted May 17, 2007 Whats the technique/easiest way? depends how big a dent/ easy access to back of dent etc.....if you can get behind it bash it out with a hammer. if you cant drill a few holes in and use a dent puller on it ....you will have to use filler on it, the less the better........ SIBBO 0 Posted May 17, 2007 sorry to hear what happened tim.it dont sound too bad,ive read your other post.hammer,dolly.block of wood and may be a slide hammer.after bashing it around to get it straight try your lamp to see if it lines up ok,if not some more bashing around is needed.then once your happy a skim of filler or stopper into the dents,sand it of and then its ready for some primmer B) pity you didn't live near me cause im sure i could sort this out for you.post some pics up of the damage.
